My uncle lives next door to a 82 year old man and his wife. We found out, they have been constantly moved from estate to estate for more than 10 years, because from 10:00pm to 6am.
he puts on recording on his hi-fi, at full blast which shout

'turn your tv down, people trying to sleep'
'you at number four, keep the noise down'

This is repeated all night, oh yes, he makes his wife wear ear plugs so the noise doesnt' affect them.
He's a fecking loon, but never answers the door and you never see him out at night.
The police and council have warned him against his antics, he's quite now but every so often he shouts from his window.

so the bloke went out to look for my old man
then he sent his wife to go into the bookies to ask my old man if he wouldn't mind speaking to her husband
who then told him that "your new tenenat is a cunt, get rid of him"
to which my old man said "he's my son, and owns the house, if you don't like it, fuck off" and walked away

things got a bit more serious later but he knows the score now and donesn't even look in our direction anymore, neither does his mrs because she knows she'll get a shovel in her face
but they've had problems with my other neighbour and the nieghbour the other side in the past few years too, he came out the house one day and threatened somebloke with a hammer and the guy just laughed at him and said "you better turn around double quick or you'll be down the hospital removing that stump from your arse"

best thing we found is to break out into a big shit eating grin whenever they look at you, as if you are going to run over and give them a big hug and sloppy wet kiss, as soon as you start moving towards them they break eye contact and move away

i had a problem with my next door neighbours for about 4 years with them and there 16-18 year old mates coming around 2am ect ect drinking loads. crap going on shouting. until one morning me and my mate walked in the house ran up the stairs and kicked shit out of them since then the son has moved out and just the mother lives there now and she is a pisshead who we have no bother with now. somtimes you need to sort them out its the only way as the police do nothing but keep the peace for one night then it carrys on.

sound about as much as the wankers behind our house, we've now been reported to the rspca twice and now the local council dog warden complaining about our dogs, now ok when maddie was a puppy her and max used to play fight and make loads of noise in the daytime, and shes was a mega pain in the arse as a pup but shes been pretty good for a while now. Originally the rspca were told they had no water or shelter, ermmm 3 places for them to drink from in the garden and a fuck off brick shed with stable door permanantly open?! lol oh and were cruel cos we leave them outside when we go out and at nite, they must have missed the fact Max is a malamute who can survive in sub zero wearther in alaska and maddie prefers sleeping in the shed, acutally opens the door up and lets herself out at bedtime lol. Spoke to the dog warden who didnt actually know what the complaint was supposed 2 be about and turned out aparently we chain both dogs up in the garden!!!! was a load of bollocks and he kindly told them that!! Worked out in the end it was the noise from maddies collar they were hearing as she kept shaking her head from an ear infection close but no cigar dickheads lol

Then theres the grumpy old fool over the road a few doors down, had a moan at the mrs a while back cos she was sat on OUR drive holding her car at 1500revs ish to warm it up for a few mins (ISCV was fucked) and aparently it was shaking his whole house and filling up his house with fumes, despite his front door and windows being closed so said he was going to call the police so she said dont bother, ring the council and ask for the enviomental health dept, and let them know and see what they do, then promptly told him to go away!!!

No problems with my neighbours. The fella walks my dog during the day whilst i'm at work and often does the garden for me. They have a key to the house and fetch the washing in when it rains if we're out. Oh, forgot to mention i live next door to my mum & dad.
Unfortunately i have not always had it this good, at my last place i fell out with the neighbours big style after they constantly caused parking problems for me & the other half so when i stuck my car outside their house the stupid bitch started throwing stones at it. I go storming over it develops into fisticuffs and i get locked up for affray, GBH & 2 other charges that i can't remember. Luckily all charges were dropped later on. When the house next door to my parents came up for sale for a good price it seemed to good an opportunity to miss so we bought it.

i had parking issue's at my last house in the uk, nice quite lil village but shite parking, i parked over the road from my house in front of the neighbours house. not over his drive way or in anyway an inconvienence to him but he would draw in the frost or dew do not park here. it pissed me off as he would be nice as pie to my face. i bought an old hearst from the auctions a real horror steamed up windows rust bleading out of it but taxed and mot'ed for three mths. so when it was dark i parked it outside his house ahaaaahaha i left it ther for a week he called the cops but fook all they could do lol. i told him if he wrote on my car again it would be left there for months ahahhahaahahah. i lent it to a few folk who had issues lol it worked a treat

silly wankers. Where i live its a nice new housing estate. 2 lesbians moved in next door over a year ago. They were only livin there for 2 weeks cause i upset them and they havent spoke since. Just round the corner there is this silly cow just moved into a rented house. She has about 4 kids and another 1 on the way. I havent read every post in the thread, but I think your best bet it to get the suport of the surrounding neighbours so you can get statements from them. A security camera might be good as well, for evidence.

Can the law make him move if he is found to be constantly threatening?

Sound's like he a bit Jealous and a green eyed monster mate..I know it is hard to ignore him as i had much the same but instead of a child i had the racist card from him.. I had it for 8 month with him, his son and friend's and the police. He always was at the local pub spreading shit and Lie's,and then 6 bloke's came over to my and my brother's house to attack me and my family.So a big confutation then happened.The police did not give a fuck..I had the police there at least 2-3 time's a day full of Lie's from him. So in the end even the police gave up listening to him and one even said we have come to draw straw's to see who go's..lol.

then when that car went i got a skip cos i took a wall down in my house, so had loads of rubbish from the jobs, he then told me i had to get rid of it cos it looked untidy and made his house look untidy, even tho it was on my drive.

1 of my m8s uncles bought a hearse to leave on the drive cos it upsets his neighbour, i might have to borrow it.
or buy a battered old caravan and leaqve it right up against his side, and then some1 unfortunately sprays some graffity down 1 side of it. lol

I have good neighbours but a friend of mine recently had to undergo investigation by social services after their neighbour reported her husband and alleged he was fiddling with his daughter. All over a strip of land out back apparently. Their cars have been keyed from front to back and have had to suffer all manner of abuse from her and her family. My friend is at the end of her tether and the investigation by social services was the last straw. She's gone and bought another house and when its finished some time hopefully before the summer, she's moving her family leaving the crappy neighbour behind.

but then you have neighbours who are just twats, as in the op's case, or horrible evil buggers, as in xrdodgybird's case, then you either live with it or you move out

it all depends on what sort of person you encounter though, if it's all mouth and no trousers then it's fine to just give it verbals and then leave it at ignoring them, but when it gets nasty then you have to think about you and yours first

i'm sure that everyone could do as much as possible to annoy our annoying neighbours if we were really arsed, but then what?

people should just get along and if you don't like someone then you shouldn't start kicking off

It annoys the shit out of me when scum has more rights than you. got broken into a few years back, there was fingerprints, witness statements everything they even had a number plate for the car they were using which they were named drivers on. I live in the country and they did 23 houses in a day and one of the people close by were in there garden when they came in about and they just bombed it. in the end our case was dropped along with 21 others the slimy basterds got away with it because they "couldn’t be sure it was them" they had finger prints, foot prints, a half eaten pear by them, witness statements it was crazy FUCKING GYPSEY SCUM!

i will be moving to a detached house when i can afford to, but im not changing my life style for the prick next door.

the old bill said id done as much as poss in trying to keep the neighbours happy.
sound deadened the walls, speakers on the other side of the house up on top of cupboards,
i even did a drive i didnt want to do, to make parking easy, ok it benefits me, but parking was ok on this road, untill the tit next door bought a 7 seat people carrier for his missus and 2 kids to go to school and back, a 9 seat transit minibus for himself (cabbie) and cant sell his shitty old megane thats over priced, so leaves that parked opposite mine.
and to top it off he applied for a disabled bay to outside the front of MY house so he didnt have to walk to far, none of them are disabled that stops them walking anywhere, his 10yr old son is autistic which is unfortunate but all it means is he has the mental age of a 6yr old, hes always running about.
