Mate, what are your parents objections?

If it is that the car is to big/powerful etc then perhaps buy a smaller car for six months and prove yourself to be a careful driver who looks after their car then move upto the car of choice.

If they just don't want you on the roads then you need to dig in and take a stand, if you have passed your test then you have as much right to use a car on the public roads as them.

As for the insurance, classic policy is going to be cheaper and if that's the quote get it in writting and happy days

What the fuck are rents?

Is this some kind of text speak where people are too lazy to add two fucking extra letters to actually spell the word correctly, and convey the actual meaning?

Always respect your parents!!

Now you and your mates are at the driving age, you most probably will see the horrific consequences of young people in 'fast' cars first hand! Your parents will only be worried about you, wait a year or two for the Crapri and get something safe and slow to learn in (you are still learning even after you have passed your test )

Saying that I did buy a 2wd Cossie a few days after my 19th birthday whilst my parents were on holiday

Keep it safe is my best advise, the number of mates of mine who crash badly in the first few years of driving you wouldn't believe.. I can't think of any of my mates into cars who haven't been involved in serious accidents, one has died, one has spent 4 months in hospital, all the others have had one or more write off. (Only thinking of about 7 people off the top of my head).

You will act like an arse in your first car with all your mates egging you on!!

How do i go about getting the rents to agree and let me spend my money how i want??
I had the same problem when living with my PARENTS and wanting a Yamaha FZR1000 Exup, my Dad told me "there is no way I'm subsidising you so you can go and kill yourself" so I arranged lodgings with a neighbour and told him I was getting one no matter what.
He eventually loaned me the money to buy it

PS Capri's RULE, get yourself a MK2 1600GT (assuming the insurance is cheaper than a 2 litre) They come with a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and go just as well as a stock 2 litre
