Default Ripped off on ebay....

Ok its only a small amount, £15.00 to be exact but its now a principle thing. I sold an item about 3 months ago on ebay. The buyer sent me a cheque. As it was only £15.00 i paid the cheque in and sent the item out as normal. You know whats coming next, yes the cheque bounced around 7 days later. He asked me to represent the cheque as the funds should be in, so i do, and it bounced again. Contacted the buyer and he apologised and said he will send a postal order. He then emailed me a few days later and had the cheek to rant and rave at me as its cost him around £30 in bank charges and said he didnt want to pay anymore! Since then, over 2 months later, and after numerous messages and emails he has not responded. I have his phone number and he just puts the phone down on me every time.

I know its only £15 but its the principle of it! Yes ok i should have waited for the cheque to clear, but as it was only £15.00 i didnt.

Is there anything ebay can do about this? If not, it looks like ill have to sent him an exploding box of turd in the post!

Cheers.

keep representing the cheque so he gets more charges and you just take the hit and learn from it.

you will get the cheque back every time it bounces, just represent it, every time, he will be charged. if you represent it enough times, he will contact you then ask him to pay the £15 or you will keep on representing the cheque to try and get your money. he will pay up in the end

Well the first time i got the cheque back it said on the cheque 'REFER TO DRAWER - PLEASE REPRESENT'. The sencond time it came back, it had the 'PLEASE REPRESENT' black marker penned out. Does this mean i cant represent it or can i still do it?

I have a feeling that the bank account no longer exists as its a company cheque and ive even googled it and the phone line is cut off so i have a feeling he knew from the start!

Such a shame that people can be like this over £15 though.

You cant leave the buyers negatives or neutrals mate. He's actually left me good feedback as soon as he received the item. Looking back at this feedback, he does have a few postaives frm sellers that show bad comments like late paying, general moaning, reversing paypal payments and saying he hasnt received things etc etc

Can i file a dispute through ebay for this? I know you can do paypal disputes but not sure if you can still do one through ebay if he didnt pay by paypal.

Thing with ebay is, they say you shouldn't send the item until payment has cleared. Ebay might not be able to do anything for you as you sent the item before the money cleared. Still worth a shot though, if that fails, username number and address on here and sit back and relax

I fuckin hate e bay now a good few months ago i sold my pectel T2 ecu for a very reasonable 250 quid, i recieved the payment sent the item so in theory everything was fine and dandy, the next thing i know, the blokes put up an appeal to ebay saying the item wasnt as described(May i just add it was in perfect working order few cosmetic scratches, sent in bubble wrap by a courier). So e bay then re- inburst him the money on the condition that he sends the item back (Buyers protection, but theres no bloody sellers protection!) This is where it gets rediculous. He sent me a playstation box full of stones!!! and left me owing 250 too ebay. i was gob smacked!!So i contacted ebay and explained the situation, but what a chew on, i had to present this box of stones too a local police station, so they could verify what i was saying and after 40 quids worth of phone calls to the bay managed to get the case dropped. dunno wether they got the 250 back from the guy, but what a twat.I now think twice when buying or selling items worth quite a substantial amount of money, id rather of kept the bloody thing!!!So

i had the same recently, but the chap put the tracking number of something that was delivered hundred miles away so completely obvious it wasnt to me, they then reimbursed him

i told paypal to go fuck themselves, they even started caslling me a month or so later and i refused to go into data protection were they ask you to confirm details etc, i told her blatently not getting a penny from me unless they take me to court and if the judge rules i pay then i will of course pay.

i had done my reasearch first i know they can do fuck all not a leg to stand on all they can do is call me and write horrible letters, they cant even come round to see me without an appoinment lol

that was months ago it all seems to of died off

i have another paypal account now lol

i agree, if you can catch them then go ahead. but over the internet its very difficult, and for £15 its not worth the hassle, put it down to experience and move on

Yeah ive got his address, but the phone number is now cut off and it says 'no longer a registered user' on ebay. I have a feeling he has done this to quite a few people as i cant see him closing his account on ebay and changing his number all because of the £15 he owes me.

Ah well, looks like ill have to send him a few suprises in the post then. Any ideas apart from the obvious dog shit and stuff? Ideally id like to buy something that explodes in his face and makes a mess, non lethal though ideally.
