Default how to relocate battery?

hey peep's im thinking of relocating the battery to the boot of my cabb, bigger battery and wont fit under the bonnet! (needed to run amp's)
i was wondering what type of wire should i use to run from the boot to the front power terminal? and am i right to think i can earth it to some point on the body in the boot? also what amp fuse should i use at the battery terminal in the boot? 60 amp mega fuse?

or maybe some info on fitting 2 battery's?? that both charge of the alternator, i have seen it done but not sure how to do it! this would be better prolly as i could use the 2 nd batt for sound system when cars not running

any idea's or info greatly appreciated!

merry xmas all!

i welded a new standerd battery tray into the boot and mounted battery on that like you would under bonnet, but since yours is bigger that might not be an option.

i got an old socket, same size as the battery terminal and welded that to the boot floor behind battery and used that as the earth.

then just used quite thick amp wireing to run the live down to the front where i joined it to the other live wires that used to go to the battery under bonnet

think i used a 60 amp fuse, cant quite remember.

It might be easier/cheaper to look at AGM batteries, as these have massively better performance, but if it were me I would go extra battery in the boot, isolated from the main battery.
The main reason for this would be cost, as you don't need silly thick wire heavy enough to carry starting current, just charging current, I assume the amps are in the boot ?, so all you need to do is get a sealed battery, or if not sealed will need a floor vent and box, just take amp wiring for power to this battery, and use a relay, fed from either the ignition switch position 2(run) or from the alternator charge light so it closes the contacts when started, this again would only need a earth suitable for the amps load, and not starter load.
Relay, wire, will be less than around £15 for this.
