My e39 530d with 255 tyres on the back. Completly undrivable had to push it most the way home on sunday. Now I can't even get it off the drive. Berlingo multispace is fine though.

MY fiesta is fun as fuck! doesn't do too badly up hills etc. either, unlike some (although I blame that alot on the poor drivers on the roads!) My mu couldn't get our sierra up the drive today though, then i came home and did it fine in the fiesta

My old xr4x4 was fucking brilliant in the snow, but oddly my 306 Turbo derv shitter is pretty good.

I think the main reason it's got a truck engine sitting right on top of the driving wheels

we've got some inbetween (knobbly/road, more road i guess) tyres on our defender atm (some cunt stuck a screw in the side of our old ones, and we just needed cheapish roads for normal driving) and my dad managed to lock it up rather badly. altho, the old tyres were dangerous in the wet, 4 wheel lockups and sideways action at 60 in a 110 is not fun!

abs is worse in the snow than non-abs, it actually increases the braking distance of a car on gravel and snow, so i'll be sticking with my old beemer banger, lol.

Bloody MX5 wont go at all and when you do get it going wont stop but a good laugh as it is on the lock stops all the way up the road, My VW passat has been a trojan as it just ploughs through the snow and the heated seats are great on cold mornings.

I think the bigger problem is the person driving the car and either not knowing how to deal with rear wheel drive in slippery conditions, or not being aware of the technology that exists to help them and knowing how to use it.

I'm lucky (?) enough to have grown up driving rear-drive cars and nowadays I'm in a C220 Sport that has no trouble going anywhere at the moment, though the wife did struggle to get it on the drive today.

ESP keeps the car going where I want it to go, and when I want some fun I just press the button on the dashboard to go sideways!
