Mallard green thaught that was nice?

not that bad of a colour.

there are worse though.

Small turbo not good then?
not if you want over 300bhp.

Seats? are they different?
they are different yes, not leather.

they are similar to the late escort trim,a funny swirl type pattern on then and the word 'monte' on the side of the sear.

All depends on what you want and how much thhe car is.

Being honest, it does sound good at Ł14k.

If you really want the monte then go for it.

You can get normal escorts for that amount.

they do have a number in the banana pod on the dash.

they have an alloy gear knob also.

You best bet is to do a search on the monte, in the photo section too.

you will have an idea what they look like then.

Allways fancied a Monte myself,

But then thought if you are going to modify it whats the point. Chances are that the wheels would be changed and it would be chipped and receive a hybrid so that would leave you with some numbers on the dash, Motorsport embroiderd on the seat bolsters and an alloy gear knob / handbrake lever. Probilly better to buy a run of the mill esc cos if thats your intention.

However if your going to leave it standard and keep the miles down then i'd say the Monte is the one to go for.

Thats what i think anyway.

The majority of Monte's are LARGE turbo's! Think theres about 6 small turbo Monte's IIRC.

Simon,

My advice,

If you want MORE that 280 bhp in the future do NOT buy a small turbo escort cosworth.

Also consider these will be harder to re-sell due to lack of tuning ability over
a large turbo model.

280 Bhp sounds alot of power (to a nova owner )
but the escort weighs 1.8 tons and you will get used to it too quickly as
I know you are a bit of a speed freak like me.

But at the end of the day its up to you mate

Simon
