you cant overcool, that only happens if your on a carb when you freeze the fuel.

Your intercooler can only at best match the air temps outside it, go as big as you can, anyone who says it will cause lag is speaking poo aswell, your talking a very small difference in time from filling a small intercooler to filling a large one

Yup, it can only cool as low as ambient, and the likelyhood of it getting that low is very low.

i have water injection anyway but its there as a 'if shit hits the fan kinda thing'

would rather have the intercooler work well enough

i have a evo v wrc core so that should be enough but as i say i can go alot bigger

so why not

Probably just chatting shit though, it has been said before!!

I would have to agree there, anything over 40 and you'll start losing power not optimum.....in the winter my act's can drop to below 10 degrees if sat on the motorway for example and when they sit below 20 there is a marked improvement in the performance that i always notice anyway, car feels much sharper, snappier and pulls soo hard on boost! Get a biggen in there lol, if you think you really need it that is and as long as you're not blocking the rad of air?!

Does wind chill have any effect on ACTs?
I'm just wondering if potentially you could get temps below ambient if you were moving fast enough? I realise this sounds a bit odd!

Sounds feasible.

It aint feasible,it's wrong!!!! Wind chill only affects living creatures, not inamimate objests. You will never get the ACT temp BELOW ambiemt without using water injection,or spraying Co2/NOS onto the intercooler.Regards,Micky

Bigger will mean more pressure drop so more lag!
more to do with quality of the core rather than overall size.
and the most important factor if the air is actually getting to the cooler and out at the right speed.
too slow and you will have a higher act as the air passing through the cooler is not getting enough cooling
too quick and then the air will also get hot.

Bang on mate, Theres no way, nomatter how fast the 'wind' is that you're going to cool below ambient without using something that'll 'chill' it.
