ive just been sent a .wps format document (microsoft works i think) and in word it comes up like gobbledegook and the same with notepad

what program other than works can actually make sense of it ?

anyone ???

Get the author to save the doc as a .doc and resend it.

theres a plugin you can download from the microsoft website to allow you to view works files in word just do a search on the site

Its the WordPerfect format if my memory serves me correct.
