Yeah unfortunately it was an insurance job so I HAD to use them.
Local shop is run by Dappy from N'DUBZ and some asians who pretend not to speak english when you ask them anything.
It started with the measure up, the guy seemed ok, never mentioned anything about the floor.
So we ordered wood and waited for it to come, and arranged fitter through the shop.
The fitter popped round to have a look at the job in the meantime, he never said anythign about the floor either
Wood turns up and they ring up and inform me I have to collect it one week before fitting ( fair enough to aclimatise, I knew this would be the case ) then he says, oh the fitter says to make sure you have the floor screeded.....( this is 8 days before the fitting is due and we have plasterers, chippys and electricians booked all week ), thanks for the notice cunts.
I collect the materials the day after the call, the wanker has forgotten to 4 doorbars ( stained to match ) that I ordered and gives me twice as much DPM ( waterproofing agent ) as I needed, informing me that this was the adhesive and DPM ( this only came to light this morning! )
I then inform them ( in person ) I am using a different fitter as I am pissed off the guy didnt mention screeding earlier or at measure up and quote time and I didnt like the look of him anyway, scruffy van, dirty clothes and bad attitude IMO.
My fitter turns up to do the job this morning and asks me where the adhesive is.......er.......Its not there ( see above )
So I go chasing up to the showroom this morning and tell Dappy he's forgot my adhesive, he just looks at me and says, " Oh yeah, we are out of stock and have been all month......" which totally boils my piss as he KNOWS hes screwed me over last weekend. I practically go for him over the counter and inform him that if he cant get me any within the next two seconds I'm going to bring the wood back and shove it down his fucking throat.
Que him frantically calling round local F2G's trying to get hold of some, I eventually have to go ten miles to collect it, and, when I get there they have no knowledge of it ( despite me listening to the phone call AND having the stock transfer paperwork in my hand! )
So another row and hour wasted while its sorted and i'm on my way home.
Thank god my fitter is a nice guy and waited for my return
This is after three days of abusive calls off the cancelled fitter and hassle from Dappy over the phone asking me where I got the other fitters number and why wasnt I using the one I cancelled. ( Clearly a backhander deal going on )
Basically they are utter amateurs to deal with, and cheeky cunts to boot!

Thats weird, as if it was an ii mandate you get the same money to spend anywhere. They put the names and addy's of some firms as ii get a 20% discount off them, you dont get 20% more though. Its a con. We used to do it all the time they hated it as they dont make fuck all. Was it an ii mandate you got?

TBH the whole insurance thing was a nightmare, basically the ground floor of our house was ruined by a flood from upstairs before christmas last year, by the time March came and the insurers were still stalling I lost my rag and called in an independant loss adjuster, payment was sorted within the month!

Yeah it was, but we could only pick from their approved supplier catalogue, i'm not unhappy with the product as I said, as its a branded one that they have no input into

I had a classic,
Years ago i worked in my mates shop, and sorted my misses olds out with some Mr Tompkinson axminster carpet that should have retailed at £35sqyd but due to a line fault, we had bought in at £5sqyd! - they did the whole house for next to nothing.
Her parents never liked me, and after a year or so we split, then one day I get a call from her mum?
'Hello Matthew, I have the insurance company here and they just need to confirm that the carpet we have is Mr Tompkinson Axminster'
So she puts him on and he asks if it was, i say yes, he says what does this retail at? so I think 'hhhm, was never good enough for your daughter, but good enough to lie for you and let you get a £35sqyd pay out?'
So I say, 'well £35.00sqyd' to which he says, yes that sounds right. But, I go on to say 'BUT... theirs is a faulty carpet they bought for £5 sqyd, I can issues you a copy of the reciept if you like'
'Oh' say the inspector, that would be VERY helpful
