Default Chrome Rollcage

I had my MK2 fiesta rollcage chromed a few years ago, now i wont to have it painted as turning the car into a track car, how do i go about stripping the chrome off so it can be painted?

Is this a proper rollcage or a showcage though?

The usal shiny rollcages are lethal hollow tubes IMO

If it is safe for use, you should be able to just rub it down and get spraying.

is it a proper steel cage? or a show alloy one??
or a very worrying one like ive seen recently, made out of exhaust tube
