Where is the mayo?

doesnt necesarily mean it's the head gasket, short journey's/not much use recently can cause mayo in breather/oil cap

Do a leakage test before you decide to strip it IMO and watch out for the water rising in the header tank.

Really dude, well the car hasnt been used much latey cause of elec problems, and not needing for work as close enough to bmx, and i only changed the head gasket 3 months back. I was at Tommytrx's house today to sort my electrics and he lifted the oil filler cap off and it was mayo, and on the drive home i was getting some really cold reading off the temp gauge, like sitting just out of the while on the standard gauge. I know it was cold to day but cant be that much?
How do I leak test it? water rising in header tank?
Cheers Dave

You need a compressor, and a leakage tester

its kinda the same as a compression test, only instead of turning it over to get the compression PSI you just put it to TDC on the cylinder you are testing and put the airline onto it, so it blows air in, tells you what % of the cylinder is leaking and you can work out if its inlet/exhaust/bore leakage and also if the head gasket is away into the water jacket it will show up by firing air into the water system.

top the header tank right to the brim when you test it so you can see it rising/bubbles.
