Default Slow puncture, knackered alloy, fixable?

Had a slow puncture on my Megane 225 for about a month now, took the wheel off today to see if i could find a nail stuck in the tyre or something, but the inside of the rim has a slight dent in it, and it is slowly leaking air from the flattened part of the rim if that makes sense.

Basically can it be put back into shape (big hammer!) or will it never seal properly again and I need a new alloy?

Can take a pic if anyone wants to see the extent of the damage, which isn't a great deal.

Roads are shite round here, and 235/40/18's aren't all that forgiving, don't remember hitting a particularly big pot hole or anything though as I'm always on the lookout for them

Any advice appreciated, thanks

Is it worth it? The R26 rims are about £110 each AFAIK, what do you have on yours? Is it worth the agro of trying to sort it?

Yeah I've got the 12 spoke 'lightweight' 18's on mine, same as in your sig, I'll go take a pic in a bit, it's bloody freezing though!

Depending on how much it'd cost, it might be just as well getting a new one, as it's a nearside wheel and has been scuffed a bit by the previous owner

Buy a new wheel will be your easiest option for now. In slow time, get the other one repaired, then when you twat another , you have another minty one sat in a box at home ready to go on, or even stick a tyre on it and use it as a spare

a little heat on it and some gentle tapping back to shape should fix it.

My NSF wheel is kerbed to fuck, I'm even debating whether its worth getting it refurbed as new ones are so cheap. I have a mate who works for Renault, so I can probably get some discount off mine, then it could be straight swapped with no pissing around.

Unlike R26-R wheels. £250 each + VAT.

Bit of a pisser having no spare, you just get a couple of tins of tyre foam as Christian will testify, centre exit exhaust does away with any room for a space saver in the boot.

Yeah it's not too bad to look at, but it's still leaking air from that spot. So what's the best way to go about sorting it out then?

Take it to a tyre place and see if they can put it straight? Or get billy big hammer out of the garage and have a whack myself?

if you dont give a shit about it hit it with a hammer but you''ll need some sort of rim sealent to help the bead seal with the rim,, id take it to a tyre place say ive done this bla bla bla can you reaseal it for me,, either you or them could give it a little knock with the hammer,, be carefull not to crack it put a cloth between hammer and wheel wont mark as bad.. thats what id do just depends on how much you care about the wheels,,
