I think it's a load of bollocks myself, saying that I would have a go if I was offered.

I really don't see how a piece of glossed cardboard could allow an open passage for the dead to communicate with the living, I mean it's not even symbolic, if it was made of animal skin and you had to drink a cup of blood or make some sort of sacrifice then I might be a little more convinced.

Apparently it is believed that you cannot contact the "dead" you can only contact demonic spirits which are not actually dead people.

this brings back some bad memories from my school days.....i think it was 1982/3

there was a few of us who hung around together, lads and girls and one of the girls who was a year older than us had got really into this stuff and of course we all decided to go along with it-we had a few nights that didnt seem to do much but we did one in my house once and at the end we didnt smash the glass and that night a few silly things happened in my bedroom that i couldnt work out- a couple of times things woke me up falling off things....freaked me out a bit.
a week or so later we did another one and it told us a girl called tracey (who was there) was going to die-it was quite spooky as it seemed very real and forceful.that was a saturday and we all used to go to a disco at a leisure centre on a thursday evening..tracey harding got run over on the way to the disco that night and was killed instantly.a night ill never forget.
anyway, word got round about the involvement of the ouija board and we were all spoken to about it at school and even the vicar at her funeral told us we should not have been messing with this sort of thing...

wether it was coincidence i will never know but i will never ever touch another one again.

Jesus, I heard that story when I was a kid too. Do you reckon it was the ghosts that did it, or it was just the same urban myth that's been doing the rounds since the my parents were kids?

Load of shite in my opinion. I used to know a guy who claimed to be able to speak to the dead etc... and he was actually pretty successful and down to earth, hence why you might take him seriously.

He was forever trying to get me to consider the possibility that these things existed. I'm open to accept anything when I see proof, but he always changed his tune when I asked him to tell me something personal etc, simply saying "I don't need to prove anything to you".

I can draw a pretty good conclusion from that.

See this is the problem. I have always experimented with stupid things and things i've been told not to do. If your a believer or not thats your call. I know enough people who have tried Ouija Board and have bad results. You can mock me as much as you want but until you make the effort to try it yourself to a point where you get what you asked for then you can't really say anything.

Its not the case of trying it once and then saying 'it doesn't work, its crap'. It does work but you need to spend time on getting it to work.

I've seen it work on numerous occasions and most of those times have been with Family.

He was a really down to earth guy in every other respect, like I said. Just believed he could see and talk to dead people. It's exactly the same as the ouija board... you either believe in gouls and ghosts or you don't.

Actually, I have tried it, and the glass moved...... because people were fucking pushing it!

Oh wait, it must have been the spirits of the dead communicating, rather than four people whose hands were touching an object that moved!

Of course its my call if I'm a believer, because I have an education and I'm not a fucking idiot!

Okay, so let's slow it down for you.

The glass moves and you agree that people are touching it. Dropping all beliefs, and just using logic, which do you actually think is the more likely explanation for the glass moving - subconscious movement by the people actually touching the object, or a group of people channelling the spirits of the dead?

Seriously, please, tell me.......

If you read up on Ouija. One of the rules was to quit while your ahead. Keep fucking with them and they'll fuck you 10 times harder.

I can. It was coincidence. Do you REALLY think the spirits came and took her life, or that she stepped out in the road without looking?

Just google how many times that "story" comes up....

Done one when I was on 'holiday' and the building we was staying in was on some form of WW2 burial ground. Guys full name that was new to the room popped up on the ouija board and no one knew him, so it couldn't of been rigged.

No one was pressing hard on the lid either (was using a shaving gel can lid, the big ones - wasn't aloud glasses), only nails on top of it and it flew off the table.

I don't care what people say weather they are real or not, what I see happen was a bit fucked up and everyone elses expression was to shocked to have been fixed.

So how are you "supposed" to do it, bearing in mind all particpants are supposed to be touching the indicator?

So you've seen a glass move without anyone touching it?

Care to video this and post it up?

im 39 now, fairly educated and far from an idiot.

all im saying is something happened that suggested someone was going to die and that week that person died in front of me.had that not happened then i would probably be agreeing with you. what i am saying is i have no idea wether it was a coincidence or not.

when i watch most haunted etc now im the first to say they are pushing the glass round and its not real.........
but ill never forget what happened that week, which gives me an open mind as to wether there is something else out there. something i am entitled to.

Fingers on the indicator, YES!!! But you can feel the difference between someone forcing it to move and it moving on its own. Its should only be touching the indicator very lightly. Hence knowing if someone is pushing it, you know which part of the indicator the force is coming from.

In most cases the Glass will fly off the board and smash.

You didn't answer the question, was it the first and only time you tried it?

Oh dear lord!

So "fingers on the indicator" isn't "touching it" then?

The whole point of the movement is that you CANNOT DETECT IT ON A CONSCIOUS LEVEL....

Have you read up on ideomotor action, or are you ignoring it because it poses a scientifically plausible explanation for the astounding phenomenon you witnesed!

We'll get there eventually.... where's Chip when you need him?!

Benni - care to apologise, now that I have demonstrated I know exactly how it works?

Pardeep - yes, I only did it the once. Even at 11 years of age, I didn't need to repeat the experiment to see that it was bollocks!

Yeah when IDIOTS started to pretend like a piece of cardboard with the numbers 0-9 and the alphabet printed on it could contact the dead.
The power of suggestion is a strong thing to the weak minded.

The local postmans, brother's, babysitters, long lost auntie was brought back to life by a game of hungry hungry hippo's. all because she believed.. woooOOOOooooo spooky.

11?

I tried Ouija board myself when i was 19 and the Glass Shattering was enough to prove the point. So explain how it was being pushed by others when it was just me, the board and the indicator???

Like i said Ron, you need to try it a few times before it works. If the glass doesn't shatter/break you haven't done it right. So i'll leave you and your thoughts towards the Ouija board alone since you tried it in another lifetime

Just reminded by my Brother and Mum

2003 when the family got together at my Aunts and did the Ouija board, my Aunts dog went fucking Mental and was aggressive towards her. She owned the dog for 8+ years NEVER had he been aggressive. After the glass smashed the dog bit into my Aunts hand.

Coincidence? Don't think so.
