2009 can suck my...
This year has sucked and blowed for me. Been made redundant 3 times this past year. Been trying to get back in the game in my field and it is slowly picking up but I'm still not employed in my field. Got my feelers out and shit I even applied for a job on the Isle of Man. WTH!
Luckily for me the Olympics are around here in Vancouver and I have a temporary job that is paying the bills right now. Had to sell off a lot of my good photo gear and been "making do" with what I have left.
My sister is terminally ill as well. Might be my last Christmas with her. Wife and I had a rough patch after I was let go from my job when the crunch hit. Got screwed over on my Sapphire purchase and been making the best of it so far.
I turn 40 in 2010 and I'm telling you this is the year I get back on the horse. I'm going to have my party in Vega$ I swear and it's going to be a banger! I'm thinking BIG New Year's party just to see 2009 out the door properly.
Anyone else glad to see 2009 get the hell outta here?
(yes, today would be a good day for me to get drunk)

Yeah, at least my wife has a good company. If she had it rough too I bet we'd have had to sell the house.
I might have to cash in my retirement savings and sell my daily driver for an old Scorpio or cheap diesel. Or drive the XR4Ti around. Sheesh. Time for reality to set in.

If I have my way I'll be in the UK a year from now looking for E55DGU or another top 500 to bring to Canada. I want to hit 2010 out of the park.
I'm so goddamn motivated right now. Like never before.

Pish year for me/my family.
Brother moved to alaska which was a shock, ok now though and he's happy
Wife lost our baby on the 26th of October
Mum told me she has cancer on the 22nd of November
Job sucks, trying to get that sorted out though, given myself till Q1 2010 or I'm off
Money wise been not the greatest, but loads up stuff paid off by July 2010 so maybe that's all worth it.

2009 can fuck right off! There's been a good few moments in it, where I've made new friends, and been some enjoyable moments of it, but the last quarter has been shite. Fair enough it was my own fault by getting fired, and I've completely destroyed my life by doing so; so next year is probably gonna suck major balls too

2009 for me when it started was utter bollocks and I hit my own personal low point this year proper fucked myself up but I turned it all around towards the end so I'd say it has been a fucking shit year but this bad boy has been going strong ever since.

not a bad year at all for me, unfortunaltly we've only had the 205 out once, but thats all i can complain at really, progressing well at work, should have had a big payrise but it is on its way and i cant really complain at what im on at the mo. next year is looking to be a cracker too, 2 new cars should be out fairly early on, new rally car is nearly finished and the mini just needs wiring up! and i should be looking at getting my first house towards the end of the year

mmmm its not surprising theres an increase in suicides.
Not to put a downer on things but the reality is the next few years are going to be tougher than 2009. There is no easy fix for the UK.
Personally i think its too late for the UK now. decline into 2nd world status and the crap that brings is almost inevitable.
I do wonder if its worth bothering any more.

Is it that bad there? Economy is growing here and we are out of recession - JUST barely out.
Jobs are coming up more and more these days. Gloomy outlook there?

difference between america and UK is we dont have the resources and core economy to back up the spending and pay off the debt! The USA especially has built the markets and regulated markets to keep the home economy competitive. Plus they have a massive stockpile of resources.
UK is an almost bankrupt little nation. Almost akin to an unemployed spendaholic trying to get on a debt management plan!

True, but Canada's economy is far less dependent on the USA these days. Our banking systems and our resources kept us out of trouble. However, Canada does more business with Home Depot alone than all of our business with Japan. Think about that.

The USA hasnt helped you lot any, I remember a picture in a Calgary paper with a Huge ship going down with a dingy tied to it with Canada wrote on it
The reason why we all lost our jobs is the price of coal went from $300/ton early 08 to $155/ton the end of 08 .. Japan being the Principal buyer of the hard coking coal.
Defo picking back up, I've been onto a few people out there in the oil patch .. Maybe get back out early 2010 fingers crossed ..
