If you look at it like a poker problem, then yes she should gamble as she is getting the right odds. But as you only get one go, I'd deal every time!

Depends on how much the money is worth to you I guess.

If it was 8,800 or 25,000 (ie same odds) then personally I would take the gamble, with 88K and 250K im not so sure as 88K would be enough to make some fairly big changes to my lifestyle on its own so would probably accept that, but if I was richer then i would have gambled it same as I would now with the 8.8 vs 25K

Agreed, if the offer was 20k or less to me, and I had a chance for 250k I'd go for it. But 88k your just stupid/greedy/born to gamble
