I always thought that you couldnt put R134 gas in systems that use R12.I thought the R134 would damage the seals.

Works fine. You just experience a %30 reduction in efficiency and have to fit new brass fittings.

Once the gullible had bought the pricey "conversion kits" the small time guys then focused on a brass bung and a can of coolant as sales wave #2.

Duracool replaces both and is cheap. I'm not sure if local laws or vendors supply a product like that for you in the UK.

If anyone is looking for some I can hook 'em up.
