MK2 Focus RS or Audi RS4 ????
I ve currently got a mk1 focus rs and love it to bits but just fancy something newer got about 30k to spend? ive looked around and narrowed it down to either a new or few month old focus rs mk2 or a 3 year old ish audi rs4, im looking to have 3-5 years of hassel free motoring, which swings me towards the focus as it would still have warrantee, any other suggestions would be welcome
which would you guys choose and why??
cheers matt

2 completely different cars, hard one to choose, would you not fancy an M3? or M5?
out of the 2above i would be swayed towards the audi if it was an avant!

good to see the differences in opinion, had bms before and they are good cars, was originally gona go for the audi when i changed but then i went out in the focus and was very impressed, does any one know what the audis are like for running costs, brakes and serviceing etc, the only thing that really puts me off them is the fact there all about 3 years old for 30k,usually the age when big bills start coming in lol

i had a brand new rs4 cab in 06 and it was the bollox full stop...theres no comparison in the two cars...the frs i find very disapointing after owning a brand new focus st wich at 320bhp kills the frs....yes the frs would be new and under warranty but if you buy a rs4 from audi you can get extended 2 year warranty anyway and free servicing for 2 years..i still own 2 audis and imho i think they are one of the best cars you can buy...
i love my fords for thrills but an rs4 will do 180 mph out the box and is bombproof with amazing handling to boot...god i wished i could afford another one right now!!!!
cheers danny

100% go for the audi . very good all round cars and go like stink . plus they dont stick out like the new focus Rs so you have more of a chance in keeping it

this is the trouble with the audi, fuels not a problem but clutchs and brakes can be massively expensive on these, i dont want to start spending shit loads on running the car

doubt a 3 year old audi would bring much hassle tbh. Two very different cars, but for me, the quality of the audi would see me going for that.
I am sure the RS is a great car, but something I think after 6-12 months you would be tired of. The Audi will be a more refined sublte car but would see it as an easier day to day car but then has the balls when you want to give it some.
My a3 is a 55 plate and feels like new at 35k on the clock.

............
Focus for me.
The running costs would be loads less which would be the clincher, and I love hot hatches.
Also check out the grouptest in this months evo, arrived today, golf vs megane vs leaon vs focus
They clearly LOVE the focus despite its flaws and the 'in gear' times really tell the story of why the focus is such a rapid car in the real world

Id have to drive both before deciding if it was my cash - ive heard that the RS4 is easy to drive and doesn't feel as fast/savage as high power FWD/RWD cars
Id probably got for a MK2 RS in green - such an awsome sight on the road
