Just seen this at the machinist its from New Zeland by a company called Smith & Jones looks a very good quality casting, it will be in N/A form.

BurtonPower were showing off an alloy Pinto block at the MPH show. I had a Pinto head and dirty great carbs bolted to it and looked the nuts. Sadly they spotted me trying to slip it into my carrier bag and asked me to disappear.

Yeah this block it not far from me in the grand scheme of things. But man - $5000 USD is crazy. California is "close" in my books.

I can get on a plane, fly to the UK. Grab some INSANE block for 2 grand and fly home for the same price with the penalties for heavy baggage included.

the blocks are made by Zeus castings in good old Dudley apparently - they seem the spitting image of the cosworth version, so no doubt they also make them for cosworth.

Anyone for a group buy from Zeus, be ideal for my single seater, Reyland cant be that far away from them, wonder if they want to organise one.

Yes it had oil spray nozzels poking out from inside the side of the main caps and the core plugs looked smaller and they were all retianed with allen keyed capheads 3 per plug.

edit

I did say they look the same, but now looking at a few other areas they are different castings, thats very interesting that 2 companies now make alloy blocks for the YB, these appear cheaper as well, just over 2k plus vat in NZ so would be a few quid less if they can be sourced locally direct.

I visited Cosworth a few years ago and was looking at one of these cosworth Alloy YB Blocks in there stores, it looked nice but the deck surface looked pourous, didn't look a great casting IMO

They might have fixed the problem by now

Other than that how about the millington version?
