Default price on windscreen fitting?

only the passenger side of my mondy quick clear screen works and with the freezing early starts coming up it's a real bonus if i could have the drivers side working too , i'v had a look at it and it looks like the element is breaking down cos i have a high impeedence across the element.

basically how much to have a quick clear screen fitted including screen and maybe if i could get hold of one how much just to have it fitted if i have car stripped ready, my insurance wont cover me for glass so that option is out the window

If you can remove one from another car you should be able to buy the windscreen bonding polyurethane online somewhere. Are you sure the wiring has become damaged?

There should be a pumple and black wire or similier up each side of the scuttle panel.

I paid Ł150 for a heated front screen for a MK2 Mondeo, that was about 18months ago though.

Cheeky fuckers at Autoglass quoted me something silly like Ł600

yea i'm pretty sure i got the scuttle off and traced the wires up the side of the windscreen to both points where the wires and soldered onto the element, made sure i got good contact and still had a really high reading on the drivers side and the passenger side was fine ,

i would have a go myself but it's be so much quicker and better if someone was to put it in for me i'd strip the car out read i'm looking for ballpark figures really, if it's just too expensive then i'll have a pop myself

i was honestly hoping it was a quick fix like you say mate but going across the element with the meter only points to a bad element i was gutted esp after paper cutting my fingers with the windscreen trim and pissing blood into my latex gloves

lol it wasn't on the rubber, i thought they where made of plastic so just tried to prize them out finding out they'r actually thin strips of alloy as my fingers slipped across them, it did smart for most the day have to admit.

i didn't doubt you just it wasn't the rubber that got me i'd of felt real shit if the alloy then the rubber got me too leaving tram lines down my hand , it's easily done though you have to be so careful not to bend them too esp as the little clips like to rust making the job easier.

by the way fancy fitting a screen in brum
