It appears that they are journal bearing turbos, that can spool up as fast as an equivalent sized BB unit, though there is probably more to it than that???

So.... anyone in the know want to shed any more light on these?

Oh, and they're made by Borg Warner.

Note: Ive only found this lot off a quick google search, I dont know if any of it is right, but some big names are apparently moving over to them...

thats the test I recently saw, didn't look that impressive to me untill the boost was really upped. Have any more recent tests been done?

They are more efficient at higher boost pressure's and BW advise a twin scroll manifold with independant wastegates for the best results AFAIK
