Default Is there any limit to the size of a garden shed?

The neighbours have bought a new garden shed, builders have been assembling it for the last 3 days and this morning when i looked out side i was horrified to see this 10ft tall shed pearing over the fence, it totally looks out of place.
Is there any planning permission or building regs required for this?
the size of this shed is just too overwhemling! its like an eye sore now!

yes there are rules but can't remember them was going to build my own shed a few years ago and looked into it. i think but dont quote me on this a shed of 15m2 is fine anything over that and upto 30m2 must be 1m away from the border line and depending on the roof it can be either 3 or 4m high i think flat roof is 3m high apex roof is 4m anything bigger than this will need planning permission. contact ur local council they will tell you if it's legal or not

I was looking into this the other day as I want to build one in my own garden, I found the link here: http://diydata.com/planning/planregp...rules.php#shed

But if you can't arsed to click it's basically what the first guy to reply said:

Sheds and Greenhouses

Neither Planning Permission or Building Regulation approval is required provided that:
  • Sheds and greenhouses do not cover more than half of the area of the garden; not including the area occupied by the house.
  • It contains no sleeping accommodation and the floor area does not exceed 15 square metres.
  • No point is less than one metre from a boundary.
  • It is not more than 3m high for a flat roof, or 4m with a ridged roof.
  • No part projects beyond any wall of the house that faces a road.
  • The outbuilding is for use only by those who occupy the house.

On the subject of planning permission, is it true that you don't need any to build a grain store?

shame 10ft would be around 3m, a good neighbour would make sure it was all ok with his/her neighbour before proceeding just plain rude imo

wait till it's all finished then set it on fire

im curious but if you wanted to build a shed and the neighbour said no when you "kindly" asked them what they think would you then get a smaller one or one you hadnt made your mind up on ?

not trying to start WW3 here but its my garden, my shed and fuck all to do with my however nice or not neighbours lol

could always paint it green to try and blend in pmsl
