Default Help! Jerky ride in traffic....or is it the mods?

Bought a 97 Almera GTI for my dogs. Has a decent boot so they both fit in

The engines they have are meant to be a very good, its known as an SE20 DE, a few Nissan's have them in.

This car has a stainless steel 4-2-1 manifold, straight through Powerflow exhaust and Apexi air filter in modified airbox with direct cold air feed. Well this car goes like a bullet.....faster than many of my hot hatches I have had over the years......but its driving me mad to drive in traffic. You just have to touch the throttle and it jerks forward, release the throttle when say doing 25mph in 2nd and again another jerk......very much like the 205 GTI 1.9 in traffic.....but worse!! Its been fully set up as in timing and exhaust co. New HT leads, plugs, oil, fuel and oil filter. Why is it running so bad in traffic, could it be due to the mods or could something be wrong like a sensor? I really dont want to even take it out around town as its so bad with this jerky running, rather use my Lexus. But once out in the open say on country roads or on a motorway is loads of fun

Any ideas??
