Smokey RS Turbo. Turbo ???

Default Smokey RS Turbo. Turbo ???
A mate of mine is looking at a Fiesta RST and the seller has said that it has had a full engine rebuild but its a bit smokey when started from cold. This clears as it warms up. Could it be the turbo seals or is he full of it and its valve stem oil seals or something worse ?

What colour the smoke, sounds like turbo.
Check if it smokes on boost.

Could be the valve stem oil seals if they weren't replaced.

He says its deffo oil smoke but i didnt ask if it smokes more on boost although he did say it seemed to boost ok

if it clears after its warm id say valve stems

Drive behind it when fully warmed up if it smokes on boost turbo seals if not then I'd say valve stem seals as well.
