Anything to look out for on these? Going to look at one for my mum at the weekend so want to be armed and ready!!

Sounds like a nice little car so hopefully it meets expectations!!

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!!

My parents have recently brought a 06 1.6tdci, and it is a brilliant little car. Only thing i can say is to look out for ones with the horrible blue dashboardsI can't stand them.
But the cars themselves should be mechanically sound so long as its had servicing!

Fuel injector seals fail quite commonly on the diesel fiestas. If you get a diesel smell in the car while driving then they may be leaking!

As Rich said, injector seals will be the main thing, doesn't seem to be as much of a problem on the 1.6's as the 1.4's but it can still occur. Also, look out for broken front coilsprings, thats probably the most common problem on mk6 fiestas in general.

Touch wood mine hasn't presented many problems in 57000 miles over 4 years.

Ford did replace the sump gasket under warranty a couple of years ago. Been fine since.
