I use Virgin's own PC Guard and it does its job. The only time I ever used Avast it knacked my machine up so won't go back there.

Try the new one from Microsoft - it's free!

http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

And less bloat compared with AVG.

Been using Avast for 2 years, my pc is online almost everyday and ive never had a problem/virus

As above AVG used to be good but recently in the last 6-12months its become bloated with stuff not everyone wants, if you just want a basic antivirus then AVG is no good in my opinion, it trys to do too many tasks which takes away from the main task................ keeping out virus

some of the free stuff such as avast & avg is better than some paid for AntiVirus software

just look at the independant awards AVG & Avast has won

used avg (free) forever.......had a few viruses which it has stopped instantly,.......why pay when free stuff does the job very well.....(just bought a laptop so might try avast on it as it seemed slow on my pc....but then again why change)

I've never had a problem with AVG, and despite people saying it's cause it never finds them,

Thats cause they're not there to find

Personal choice, they're all much of a muchness. With ANY virus software, if you go and try for an infection, you'll get one.
