Trojan Horse found on my PC !
I downloaded a song off Limewire the other day and my PC has since been doinf strange things.
Pop ups galore and spywere alerts aksing me to download allsorts
AVG picks is up but cant seem to correct it. I ask it to remove and heal all infections but its still doing things after I scan it.
Its called Trojan Horse Generic14.BYCS
Infected fine is:
C:\Windows\System32\rundll.exe (3640)
Ive tried deleting this fine but it wont have it. and AVG wont fix it.
How do I sort it ?

ummm i wouldnt go in to anything important like banking or anything like that what a trojan does is anables a back door in to ur comp so other viruse's and that like worms can get in if your normal anitviruses dont get rid of it try downloading pc tools antivirus its free run that and see if it finds it and get rid also get rid of the file you downloaded and if the a/v doesnt gt rid of it i think youll have to try and find were the file went to and delete it manually other than that you may have to format your drive
hope this helps rich

Download this - http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Run it, then stop downloading porn on Limewire.

I had a similar Trojan a couple of years ago, kept re-infecting on start up despite all the anti virus software
Did a bit of net research and found the only way to get rid was to boot up the PC in DOS and manually remove the infected file. Im no computer expert but it was straight forward enough to do
google the trojan and you should find a similar fix

My advice, Download Avast its free and updates daily.

For free you cant go wrong with Avira and if your going to pay for an anti virus (which you should) then go with Avira Premium or G-Data.

be careful on Limewire as i know a few hackers who spread their keyloggers and stealers on there and get hundreds of hits a day,if in doubt after downloading scan on virustotal but if their virus is fully undetectable as most are then your fucked lol
most pump the size of the file up to make it look like a mp3

I got rid of nortons cause it slowed my comp down too much and used AVG, got a trojan within 2 weeks, wiped my hardrive and went back to nortons.
Im now with Kaspersky which i far prefer to nortons. Also for those of u that bank online with Barclays, Kasperskey is free, just click the link once u get to ur account summary screen.

You can turn that off in the options mate, but hard to find if you've never looked before but its there.

Have you tried booting your pc up in safe mode before running your anti virus software?
If not then try that before you start installing or uninstalling any anti virus software.
Big-Dan.
*EDIT* I'd also pull the plug on your internet connection before doing the above.
