Hi people, can you use a normal sky card in a plus box?
Already got sky plus and multi room so bought another sky plus box off e bay, i know i'll need to run an extra cable to the new plus box but can i use the original viewing card in the new plus box?

As long as it has been actiavted, your Sky + card will work in your standard box for all except the premium channels (essentially Sports and Movies)

Yeah it will but you have to have it activated by sky else it won't be any different to using a non sky+ box.

Pretty sure you will have to pay subscription too although I could be wrong.

there are devices on the market that allow you to card share i believe

you will need to call sky to pair the card to the box
otherwise you will only recive freeview channels and no sky + function

for multi room subs it's the same tenner anyway, be it sky+ or hd so no biggie

as long as you pay subs you get the plus option for free (was 10p/m a long time ago)

system details and it will say version number and serial number, you need thos and also your card number, show on that screen or on the card itself


once you have had em pair it up it will work within 2 mins to 4 hours (that old chestnut)
but you can make it happen quicker with a callback
if need be pm me and ill tell you how, you may not bother

As above but when you call, make sure they change it to a Sky+ box and add Sky+ subs before they repair card!
