Default Ebay Rant.

Just sold an old LPG change over valve on Ebay and some guy paid nearly what I paid for it new, it was clearly listed in the auction that postage and packing was £8.00.

Now the fooking idiot has kicked off and opened a dispute because the postage label said £4.41! What about my time packing it up, Paypal charges, Ebay charges and my time and fuel to take the fookin parcel to the postoffice.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

What is wrong whith some people, Ive refused his refund and asked him why did he bid on the item if he did not like the £8.00 postage and packing costs.

Bet Ebay side with him.

state in the dispute, postage and packaging means just that, postage 4.41 + meterials to package = 5.00 so realy he owes you 1.41 and you would like it payed asap, should shut him up

Exactly. You do get some idiots on ebay. Its the law of averages. For every 10 'normal' people your always going to get a few strange people. So he's monaing about £3.59. Im sure if you add it up what its actually cost you in materials, fuel, and time, it will probably be more than £3.59 or very close too as you say.

He's probably got face on becuse he realises he paid over the odds for it.

I had a few items listed a while back, exactly the same items, some on auction and some on 'buy it now'. One bloke paid a fiver over the buy it now price and then demanded that i refund him the fiver, because ive 'ripped him off'! Its just full of idoits and its getting worse.

he seems like a tipical ebay tosser !!!

your postage costs were clearly stated in the auction, so he shouldn't have a case against you.

Thing I carnt understand is if you dont agree with the postage costs then you dont bid??

I think the retard has seen that he has paid to much and is trying to get a few quid back.

Thats the next line of attack;

Dear time waster, I have recalculated my postage costs and loss of interest on the money you withheld from the item you won on Ebay and infact you know owe me a further £1.50. Please pay ASAP.

Thank you please.

states in ebay rules that you have to make sure your happy with p+p befor bidding, and to contact the seller if unsure

you can also throw this at him, states your allowed to also charge for packaging,

no prob mate,

i learnt a long time ago, as soon as your itams are pay'd for, transfer the money to a second paypal account and close down the first, saves all probs as thay cant open a dispute on a closed account, if its a genuine prob thay will pm you

Some auction now say along the lines of 'if you dont agree with the p&p, then dont bid'. Then if they do bid, win and then complain, surely they dont have a leg to stand on and the seller would be ok.

I find it anoying that people, say in Manchester for example, win your item bid and win your item that you have listed for collection only from South Devon. Do people even read the descriptions, clearly stated in there is that its cash on collection only.
or
You put, as I do, UK postage only. Why then do I still get the occasional question how much postage would be to Greece?

"Your postage costs were clearly listed yes i agree and if they came to that ammount then i have not got a problem but they did not come to that ammount your costs were virtually double and that is clearly dishonest.If you were to read ebay's policies NO WHERE does it say that postage costs HAVE to cover ebay's listing fee's that is a total lie.You state that paypal's fee's are robbing then why include paypal as a method of payment and you say that you have to drive 10 MILES to the nearest post office which i find that very hard to believe and even if that be the case then that is
Just got this back from him;

YOUR problem not mine.From my experience with buying from you and your email i can understand why people are wary of ebay and i now understand why ebay promote power sellers and top rated sellers because then buyers can be reassured that they will be treated fairly and honestly.Thankyou for your time i will over the next few days leave a feedback and star rating that is honest and just.
regards steve........"

Sent this back to him;

Quoted from Ebay; "Actual postage cost: This is the final P&P cost charged. Consider what others in the market charge for delivery of the item being sold to ensure you remain competitive. Also be consistent with eBay policies for the postage and packaging charges for the category you are listing in." In the category I listed there was no Ebay pricing polices so I have broken no rules.
Ebay also ask when you bid on an item "do you agree with all the sellers terms and costs", as you bid then you did indeed agree. Lets see what Ebay and Paypal have to say.
Thanks

tbh guess 5 pound postage and 3 pound packaging is fair and about right (small role of bubble rap + jiffy bag etc) so dont think ebay will have a problem

swear in his feedback and ebay will remove both feedbacks so you get rid of negative lol

If you pay for the postage online (royal mail or direct from paypal account), it doesnt show the price. It has the 1 or 2 logo on like its a pre-paid envlope.

Even if the parcel doesnt say a price on it, it isnt hard to find out. I keep a leaflet by the computer to calculate the postage on big items.

If i don't like the postage i won't buy or bid as some people take the piss royally with the postage (some outside of ebay). The amount you've charged is fair and i do exactly the same, its not like i'm selling all the time and have a stock of bubble wrap and jiffy bags. Appears he's just another of the ever increasing ebay wankers, he should know you have to offer paypal as a payment method and realistically i could easily take 10+miles to the nearest post office especially if its over a certain size as the nearest to me can't handle bigger parcels. Plenty of villages round here without a post office and would be at least a 10 mile round trip to one, just like many places all over the country.

I've been lucky up to now and the main problems i get are from people who haven't bid or don't win it. I sold a mobile last week and someone sent me a message AFTER someone else had bought it asking if i'd take £50 as an offer!! £20 lower than someone had already paid for it. Fucking genius!!
