Default What size external wastegate for what bhp?

going to be running external wastegate on the new cosworth engine but there are so many sizes 36/38/44/46mm etc none state what power it's suitable for so how do you work it out? I doubt il be running over 550bhp max.

Thanks marc

Depending on space restrictions, go for the biggest you can get in there! The more exhaust gas you can flow away, the more accurate your boost control can be!

Personally depending on the actual end power figure you go for, i'd look at the 38mm as the minimum and go for the 44mm if you're under 550bhp.

I normaly run a 1.2 bar spring set up, Some boost control set up works better than others and this can let you run a softer spring.

I will most likely be running air Injectors,

The website does not specify a 1.2 bar spring only 0.9 bar so maybe il have
to ring them for that if I want to go that hard,

thanks marc

You add another spring to raise it to that, there are only about £15 a spring so it may be worth getting a couple of diff ones.

id imagine you will have to run best part of 30 to 35 psi on that turbo setup to achieve 550 hp,so you will need the right spring to control the boost properly, good project ,will have a proper nose when its finished as no dobt you will be at one of the brunters thrashes next year

including shipping it comes out at £294.63 and depending on import duty its not going to work out much cheaper and will take longer etc,

reyland does them for £361 delivered so think for a uk supplier il buy from the uk
