Default place your bets folks...

i told my boss(s) yesterday morning to 'politely' stick their job where the sun don't shine

so thursday morning i'm going to be having 'words' with him and his boss

although i've got the boss 3 levels up fro that boss possibly on my side

will i be joining the dole queue or not?

and, if i did, would i be better off?

alternativly, they may offer me all that i want (but i'm after a £15k pay rise as well as 2 other things so perhaps not eh )

technically, i should be having november and december off
paid
as i've done my alloted hours for this year

but what came out of my mouth was "i'm tired of being treated like a cunt by a bunch of assholes" followed by a long pause

it's not like i'm asking for gratitude, just a bit of appreciation and to not be taken for granted when they fuck shit up and then think "it's ok, he'll deal with it"

no fucking way

if i get sacked and have to apply for benifits etc, i've worked ou that i'll be about £600 a month worse off, but at least i'll be able to spend time with the kids, this week i've been to work and back again and they were asleep when i left and asleep when i got back, and i'm fed up of it, and it's not as if i "need" the money or "need" a job as i've got plenty squirreled away to see me through for a decade or so

am i having a mid life crisis?

If they can go 2 months without you then i don't think you will have long in your job.

You should get a written warning for your little outburst.

they wern't able to last 2 hours wihtout me

when i'm off on holiday they send someone else down for the duration, which means paying me for my holiday time, paying someone else to fill in for my job, paying someon else overnight accomodation to stay down here for a week or 2, payin someone else to do the perso who's been sent down to do my job's job up north, etc

so things have got a little out of whack since monday, 20% of stuff didn't go out monday, 15% of stuff didn't go out yesterday, looks like 25% of stuff won't go out today, so it's all going to add up because they can't manage it from up there

in a way, yes, i'm making life difficult for myself, but i've been doing what i do, and i think, very well, for the past 4 years, and the only time things go wrong wi when i'm not here

and i've not been there this week

there was also a verbal agreement that i would only have to do a 4 day week as they dind't want to pay me any overtime so i'd get a wednesday off and i'd still be fulfilling my hours for the rest of the week in 4 days, but that never happened

i've had enough to be honest, although i might go to the docrot and get myself signed off with stress and see what they say about that

I didn't think you were entitled to benefits if you were 'sacked' or 'quit?'

Will getting signed off by the doctor with stress help you in your cause for more money ?

Its a hard one to call.

Just say from now on you will be having your day off in the weekotherwise they can pay you extra

'sacked' or 'quit?'
Is there any other way of leaving a job apart from I'll health retirement?

And you can get benefits regardless of why you haven't got a job.

I reckon nothing'll happen dojj - I told my boss he was a spineless git and I got a pay rise two weeks later!

Yes, don't know if you have ever heard of it but it's called redundancy. Unless you have been living under a rock for the past year you should know all about it.

I was just under the impression that if it was YOUR choice to leave a job or you got sacked for example misconduct then you were on your own.

Maybe I am giving the benefits system too much credit

If you walk out you can't sign on the dole for a few month I think, but if your sacked you can sign on straight away as far as I know.

or alternatively a compromise agreement... i.e. when the company don't want you but have no grounds to sack you will but need to find a replacement person for your job.
basically entails the company giving you your notice, usually statuatory reduncdancy pay, plus a stack of cash on top... in return you sign a legal document saying you won't sue them for replacing you. happens all the time here.

intresting to know, but they really DO need me i've just had a call that 3 days worth of paperwork hasn't arrived and did i send it up "of course i didn't, i don't get paid to send paperwork to you, i'm now just a regulalr driver for the forseeable future" "oh" "but seeing as you asked so nicely, if i go back in i'll put it in an envelope for your attention"

they've got to compromise, replacing me is going to be impossible so i'm thinking what they'll do to tempt me to stay

on the flip side, they might just tell me to get rid, but i don't think they would be coming own to see me for that, i would have been "invited" to head office like everyone else who get's the sack

i'll just flog the house and give the money to my brother, as he's on the deeds as co owner, same with the other house, and all the other money is in india, making me and my family "homeless" and see what happen from there onwards

then again, i might just move to aus, i hear it' nice out there most of the year, other than the creepy crawlies

this might be just the push i need

on holiday mate

besides, there is an internal office reshuffle so the peole in charge at the moment won't be in charge when i get back, hence the secondary meeting to discuss what needs to be discussed

i've got an extra van and i've got 2 less routes to deal with for starters so that's something from this morning

and it's going to take them 3 months to place the ad, find the applicant, do the interviews, and complete the training before someone can fill my shoes on a bigger salary than i'm on, so they'd rather keep me i think

plus i don't really want to be a cunt and drop them in the shit, mainly because the guys who work with me would also be in the shit, plus the several agency drivers we use, one of who is the husband of my wifes mate (don't even start )

there are also several other options on the table and i've got to draw up a list while i'm away and then make my case for the new boss, who is actually the same boss 3 levels up from me who used to be my boss last year, so at least i know i'll get a good hearing and that he won't bullshit me with complicated answers

i can live without getting a £15k payrise if the other conditions are met so as long as they are at least more understanding of my requirements then i'll stick it out, besides, i'm not a quitter and i want to give it a go at getting things right

also, there was a company restructure about a year ago where certain people moved into certain different jobs and came under different departmental heads, i have a feeling that things are going to go back to the way they were because they simply wern't working

and i played my ace up my sleeve as soon as he walked through the door and from that moment on, he was sort of resigned to the fact that i had a full house and he had nothing, not even a bluff, to counter with

we all have difficult jobs to do, and i have always accepted that the other peoples jobs that i complain about are difficult and that i wouldn't want to do them as i don't think i would be able to complete them, but, at the same time, they shouldn't be telling me how to do my job when they clearly have no clue as to what's going on, it's like me telling you how to drive a train

exactly my point, if someone on the radio was telling you to push buttons and pull levers and stuff that would make you crash or soemthing, you'd be telling them to get to fook

and then to tell you that they couldn't drive a train but you need to get a shift on because you are going to be late and they are going home in a bit, that would really piss me off

and then, when you are still out there in the rain and wind and shit, they are at home all nice and toasty and you've still got a hundred miles to go before you canget home, that really would be taking the piss

so you sort of know where i'm coming from eh

basicly, they work in an office and, when it's time to go home they go home
i work in an office but my office hours means that whenit's the last guy coming in and all sorted it time to go home

i've tol d them that if they can't get me finished by 3.3 i'm fucking off home ni any case

Sounds to me like your place has too many Chimps and too many restructures.

I am in for a telling off because I havetold my boss in a polite way he's a useless cunt,
He also butted in a convo we were having about facebook to which he pipes up
Boss - I might join this facebook lark to see what you lot get upto
G - People have to accept you as friends, think you'll fall at that hurdle

Kinda put the icing on his grumpy cake.
