Rally GB Review/Pics (Bit Late)
Been trying to find time to upload pics of this years final round of the WRC Rally GB. Excuse somke of the pics, i was trying to get use to a new camera
SS1 Hafren, we decided at the last minute to go to Hafren as we always go to Sweet Lamb. With 000, 00 & then 0 car out the way it was time for action...
Car 1 Mikko was on a charge
Car 2 Seb & he was flying
It was good to see Petter back having fun...
17 miles into the stage and already Henning was losing parts
20 cars gone we set off for remote service at Builth Wells....

Remote service is a good idea but not so good for the day trippers with prams etc.....
It was good to see the drivers getting involved, even if it was just cleaning the windows

Then back on the chase & off to SS6 Myherin
Day 2 proved a not so good day as i had a 24hour bug and didn't really want to be on the rally. Early start & a mile walk in true Welsh weather...RAIN.
SS8 Crychan
After SS8 we soent most of the day in Service (being sick) Service this year was a joke the way it was set up....
Ford's were taking no chances and changed all 4 corners on each service
Off for a little rest then back to the evening service, we decided to go tot he Stobart service as Henning is always a good laugh & never know what state the car will come in. Before it arrived we heard that it needed a new rear bumper, from wing repair, front discs/pads, right front spring & rear anti roll bar, oh & if they had 3 1/2 minutes spare change the clutch aswell...

Day 3 SS14 Rheola
Mikko defo on a charge & had my fingers crossed he'd become the World Champion
Then back to Service, we always end the rally at Service just to see the mechanics do there job for one last time & see if there hard work pays off.
We'd had heard the news that Seb had Turbo problems but never heard about Mikko losing his bonnet & having to stop. Malcolm had gone round every member of staff to thank them for there hard work...
Then Citreon started to play Queens "We Are The Champion" & Malcolm said we need to give Mikko a bigger cheers, to say Mikko was gutted was an understatment,
A big thank you to everyone & even apologised to all the mechanics for not winning....
The lady at the back holding the kid was Mikko's partner & on getting back in the car the kid shouted Daddy crying, Mikko ran over and gave him a big hug saying it was ok.....that was not nice to see
It was that upsetting, Malcolm took Mikko's son & gave him a hug & had to console himself for an interview. It was weird seeing him cry....
Jari Matti came in a few minutes later & was very strange to see him get ignored by the boss, it was like that was his last drive for Fords
All cars in cleaned & back out for the finish & 30 minutes later most of the Ford service area was down...
Quick look round and wish i could have got the champs bumper....
To finish off the rally on walking back to the car, we saw most of the drivers on the road, so quickly got he M-Sport book out to get more autographs. Jari Matti had a right face on him & like before it was like he didn't have adrive for next year. "If looks could kill" Then i ran over to Petter's car to get his & Phill Mill Autograph but the lights changed & he said jump in I sat on the sill with the door open while he moved up. LEGEND.
Once again i was in the right place at the right time & apart from the Saturday i enjoyed the whole weekend.
