I havent driven either and neither do I intend to.
Both the new rs and vws offerings do nothing for me what so ever.
i'M OLD SKOOL rear wheel drive/ 80'S retro fwd ,
( i own a mk2 scirocco storm so im not ford biased either)
I just think that an opinion based video stating driver preference isn't indicative of the cars potential performance.,
there should be acceleration tests, drags race, braking distance challenge.
lap times etc.
If the scirocco is a better car then fair play to it .

Well we are all entitled to our own opinions. Obviously he has driven both so can make his choice. I'd suggest very few of us have actually driven both if any of those cars, so who are we to judge?

1/4 mile time,
0-60
0-100
best lap time
average mpg
best at braking, (not breaking !)
Then each cars potential performance will be measured and quoted and nothing will be opinion based bar the fact of what feels nicer to drive etc etc.

personally i prefer the vw.
think its much nicer looking car.
and as has been said in the video, looks like a much more classier, expensive car than the ford.
then again i've never really like the new focus rs at all.

never liked VW'S meself sorry but take away the R badge on the V DUB and it just looks like a golf GT!!! bring on the focus aggressive looks and always looks a bastard in your mirror cant see why anyone would say that about the GT oh sorry the R
i have been in both and driven the focus rs the bro inlaw owns the focus and a friend works for vw so gets test cars etc. my opinion is the focus is the best drivers car faster to , but the scirroco r edges it with the interior quality, feels just like the audi s3 well from passenger seat anyway, he wouldn't let me drive it.

The biggest issue I have with his decision, is that its cause the Scirroco is cheaper, but if he were to actaully try owning both for say a 3 year period, as is typical of a new car buyer it would be the Focus that would be cheaper.
Mainly due to the difference in depreciation.
Its all very well saving a couple of K to buy it, but if its 5K cheaper after 3 years then you are down not up, and thats before you look at different servicing costs etc.
If you are going to take cost into account, at least do so meaninfully IMHO

Even more of a stupid point for him to be making then.
Bottom line is, that he called the VW a better car for one reason IMHO, he was trying to be controversial cause he wants people to talk about his review
