first car
Yeh, dead battery.
I wouldnt even bother charging it, as normally when they get this low they will not hold any charge afterwards. This will put a massive strain on your alternator, and most likley youll have to replace that as well if you ignore it.
Go to halfords, they will have one on the shelf for you. You will most likley need their "battery converter" as well. As most modern batteries have lugs, and most older fords have bolts. ~Think its about £3.99.
Battery for an escort should be abuot £60-70 I believe.
Ignore me if you know this. But when removing battery always disconnect the NEGATIVE FIRST, this will avoid any risk of shorting the spanner and blowing a fuse somewhere.
When reconnecting put the positive on first, then the negative.
Is poss jump your car, or bump start it, and limp to halfords. take a 13mm and 10mm spanner with you and do it there.
