The engine management warning light on my wife's 1.4 Focus flickered on the other day when driving. It did if for about half a mile, then went out. It did it again when she started it this morning. It flickered for about 3 seconds and went out and hasn't come on since.
Are their any likely culprits to check before I give Ford far too much money to plug in their diagnostic electrictrickery - The car drives faultlessly otherwise.

check the faultcodes yourself and see if any are thrown up ??
been a while but am sure you hold the trip reset down ,then switch ignition on whilst holding trip button ..
this will then start all the checks something like gauge check first then led check
will also show any error codes ,which can be easily looked up on the net

Really does need a diagnostic scan to tell you more - interestingly though Dan, if you have a Superchips Bluefin lying around in the Fast Ford office - they do double up as a fault code reader for other Fords
