resetting fault code
Is there any way of resetting the fault codes on the ecu off a 04 mondeo tdci.
I have changed a few parts on the car to hopefully rectify the fault that had developed, however I assume the ecu needs to be reset to clear the fault so I can see if I have fixed it?
I tried disconnecting the battery which doesnt seem to work and dont fancy going back to ford to charge me another £60 after they couldnt find the fault saying it wasnt giving anything definate? as per my thread in the tech section.

Whenever I've had the engine management light come on in any of my old cars (including a mk3 mondeo like yours) disconnecting the battery for half an hour clears it every time! You sure the fault is not still there, thus bringing the light back on?
when I turn the ignition the engine fault light doesnt go out even before the engine is started.

You should disconnect the negative terminal, I dont think it will make a difference with your fault code, but it should always be negative terminal on last and off first when connecting/disconnecting a battery!
