Brake Light Bulb

My brake light bulb on the left keeps going. The bulb is turning white and going brittle. Its happened twice now on the same side, the other side is fine. What could be causing it to keep doing this?

Hi for bulb to be turning white bulb is overheating as result of bad contact clean up make sure earth is good suggest new bulb holder fitted if earth ok good luck

Could this be due to aftermarket lenses? (Not holders, just the lenses).
