As said at the start of this thread is all about the viewing figures, he's a smart guy, when he takes the the time to think and mumble on when dermot asks his vote on who to bin that week, what he's actually thinking is "what is the best way to cause contraversy and boost ratings?". Don't forget that shows like this are his creation, he knows how it all works and what course of action to take.Totally agree with all the comments on here though (which is a rareity) but I've gone off the X-factor now, it's far too commercialised and edited now, glad i'm busy the next two weekends, i won't miss not seeing it, now i usually sit with it on in the background while I'm surfing the net and don't even pay attention, can't see that changing now unfortunately.

shame, as it use to be at least loosely a singing competition and if the public don't treat it as one the judges should be the ones picking the good singers.
Its now all about popularity and having the right image. which i think is sad so early on in th competition when the likes of lucie where just finding there feet in front of a live audience

X factor couldnt afford the scandal of it coming out that the pubic vote was rigged, they earn FAR too much money from the voting to risk losing it all by rigging the votes.

Losing credibility of the vote, would take millions off the x factor brand value.

 

Its a very simple set of circumstances that is controlled by the business genius that is Simon Cowell.

1) He bad mouths Jedward and says they are rubbish - the public vote for them in droves

2) He is nice to them - the public dont vote, they end up in the bottom 2

3) he knows Louis will vote for his act, Danni will vote for her act and Cheryl would vote for Lucy, which makes it down to him for the final vote.

4) A good pretty singer to rival his 3 lads or a shite pair of twins who cant sing but put on a good show. Which one of those acts threatens his 3 lads the most? So he puts it to the public vote.

The only fix/scam it could be is if Simon knew the result of the public vote before he was asked to make his decision. But imo i dont beleive that to be the case. In effect what Simon has achieved, is to make million's of people tune in next week to see what happens.

He isnt worth millions of pounds for nothing. He is a very clever and shrewd businessman
