Default 2000-2004 Transit van information/specs??

Looking into buying a transit tipper for work as the landrover is not really suited to my requirements.

Im looking at the Dual rear wheel, crew cab ideally.

Im desperatly searching in the net for a reliable information page which quotes the dimensions, kerb weights and GVW etc.

Main things i need to know are:

The longest tipper bed available.

Does a crew cab mean a smaller tipper bed, or can I have both the crew and the longest bed.

The most I can carry on my licence is 3.5. so how much more does a crew weigh/what load weight would I be sacrificing.

There only seems to be limited info only on the new van. so any links to the older model would be much appreciated.

you will be able to carry more on a non crew cab, and the longer bed is normally on the non crew cab, the curb weight of a normal cab tipper would be close to 2 tonnes, giving u 1.5 tonnes of load, the 3.5tonne your licence lists is the gross, thats load and vehicle, including driver, if you want max carrying, go non tipping, as the tipping gear adds to the weight of the van, but that means unloading with a shovel, if you want a crew cab, and you want to fill it with people and carry load, the weight of the people comes off the weight you can carry, i know of luton transits with tail lift that can only carry the weight of an escort 75 van , before it goes over the 3.5tonne, i would say the most a tipper transit type vehicle will carry is 1.5tonne, soon as you add crew cab, tools, people, fuel ect, it all comes off the 1.5tonne

Thanks ( I do understand MAM and Gross weights tho)

Yes Ive thought about the tipper as the lifting gear must easily weigh 200-300 odd.

One reason im selliing the landrover is Im pissed off with shoveling for the past 8 years! Tho I guess the non tipper is a dropside so would be easier than my landy.

My landy weighs in at 2.2 meaning I can carry 1.3. So Im not expecting any more than that from the transit.

The crew cab seems very appealing as its a safe area for tools, as again for the last 8 years it can be difficult some times leaving tools if you have to park in town to go to the bank or whatever. And it its raining.

Tho I guess I could make up some alli chests to fit on the sides of the chassis between the wheels.

So crew cab looks not so likley now.

What ive found is on a normal tipper (these are for a brand new but I assume they are the same as the 02-04 plate models?)

bed is 3.2 meters
Payload is 1100kg
Max Train weight is 6000 (or 6500 with the bigger engine) no that is makes sod all difference as I can only tow 750kg on my licence

Still looking for the official information tho, as I need the exact figures to be sure the transit is a good move to make.
