Elephants cannot jump. It is physiologically impossible for them to do so, because of their weight. You asked how come I see them jump down off platforms, stand on their front legs, and do all kinds of other tricks at the circus, they will step down from a platform, but will not jump.
"jumping" means lifting all your feet off the ground at once
similar to the rules for "running" as per the rules for speed walking, you must have at least one foot on the flor at any time otherwise it constitues "running"

In 2004, the Discovery Channel show MythBusters set out to test the daddy long-legs myth (Season 1, Episode 13 "Buried in Concrete"). After measuring the spider's fangs at approximately 0.25 mm (average human skin thickness varies from about 0.5mm to 4mm), the show's host was apparently bitten, although the bite produced little more than a mild short-lived burning sensation.

This appears to confirm the suspicion that pholcids can penetrate human skin, but that their venom is practically harmless to humans. Additionally, recent research by Alan Van Dyke has shown that pholcid venom is actually relatively weak in its effects on insects as well.

Its half a fact, you didnt specify what pressure it was at.

But you are correct on the numbers if you assume 1 bar absolute

Up a mountain though, its more like a boiling point of 80C

1 atmospheric bar can only be achieved at sea level!

this freezeing and boiling of water is also a bit mute.

you can only assume the freezing and boiling, 0 to100c theory really if:

the water is at true netural pH of 7.7
a specfic gravity of 1.000
and completly free of any impurites
and at a 1 atmospheric bar

iirc, submarines use to boil the water instantly with thier propellors, at water levels of 125' +, i think the process is called cavitation.

(you can see this process with old war films with torpedos, running below the surface, though most torpedos at the time were oxygen propelled !)

iirc its actually the fact that they have so little of the venom that means it doesn't affect humans

this as in a physiscs lessons over 20 years ago so you'll have t ogive me some credit for rememebring it at all

but i'm right about it not being prooved to be a linier rate yes?

assuming all the above condition were met in the testing there is no way to translate them acros to every other envoroment yes?

Incorrect, depending on the weather it may be that just above sea level on some days.

the water is at true netural pH of 7.7

If the way is completely free of any impurities, then its pH doesnt vary anyway so you have essentially specificed that twice, the same is true of its specific gravity, which is 1.000 by definition.

and at a 1 atmospheric bar
as mentioned previously

iirc, submarines use to boil the water instantly with thier propellors, at water levels of 125' +, i think the process is called cavitation.

(you can see this process with old war films with torpedos, running below the surface, though most torpedos at the time were oxygen propelled !)
Yes thats true, its part of the noise that can give subs away IIRC
As a result they have two propellers as one unit with different prime numbers for the numbers of blades on each one to minimise constructive interference in the wave forms created by the pressure spots generated by the cavitation.

Richie or Rob can no doubt give a more accurate description than I just have though.
