I can see what imo what you were doing there, comining out of the right hander nice and early on the power(foot in the floor).Bit of a sideways and you let off ? Fishtailed the fuck out of it and braked, shame about the car as I thought about doing this conversion with one of my sapphires.I would of thought braveing it out would have sorted this imo.Not trying to be critical btw.

He didnt lift mate, if you watch it again and listen carefully you can hear the engine note change as its swinging about.
The reason for the crash was a loose rear beam bolt, he never stood a chance at catching it even though he didnt everything right IMHO, as the beam was moving on the car.
When I drove Ian's car the day before I was convinced that something was loose at the back but I think cause he had been driving it as it became loose he hadnt noticed the change as it was gradual, we even jacked it up in the hotel car park to have a quick look at it after I said I thought something was loose but we were only on a little jack and couldnt really get it up high enough to look at properly so didnt manage to find it, he only found out about it when he was next working on the car.
With regards to the barrier, he was quite lucky he didnt get charged more, it actually moved one of the posts back a litle, but I covered up the witness mark before the guy from the ring arrived
I'll see if I have got the picture of the barrier that I took, as Ian mentions it was clearly dented.
I bet they still havent replaced it though they hardly ever do it seems, they charge you for the slightest impact and then dont bother to replace it till someone has a bigger crash there, they charged me to replace barrier I hit and yet 18 months later I could still see the mark I had caused, bet it will be the same if we go back this year and look at ians barrier, lol

Not too bad. Last time I went a friend let his miswah have a lap and she went off same corner through the gravel, wrecked the side of his car with stone chips, Didnt actually hit anything but they charged over 100 Euros for clean up.

Blows my mind that you both drove the car and thought something was loose, so tried to jack it up and check to see what the problem was, but couldn't get it high enough so didn't bother.
Then still went onto the ring knowing something was loose.
Is there no local garages that you could of tried using their ramp, for abit of cash?

We jacked it up and checked what we could with the limited resources we had available, and everything we pulled and push on felt normal so we both just assumed I was mistaken.
As the only thing he had telling him it was loose, was some bloke who had never driven the car before and he could find no evidence to support what I was saying and it still felt ok to him, I dont think he had any reason to believe me.
No good bitching at him about how he should have done something different as im sure he is aware of that now, but at the time he had no reason to believe there was anything up with it, so didnt know he was taking a risk!
