1.8 16v dohc zetec engine in the way of mods??? and what expense?? someone said you can bolt on a turbo???? is that true?

u cnt just bolt a turbo on a lot more involed than that if you've got 3/4k to spend then u can turbo it. the cheapest way to tune ur engine is always the NA route. i currently have a 1.8 zetec in my focus around 160bhp. the mods are milltek manifold/decat 300 pounds PE induction kit 200 custom exhaust 400 piper cams 450 remap 300 thats 1650 quid!! fuck me thats the first time iv added it up like that!!! gonna go cry now.

turbo is the cheapest route to get decent power from it. n/a is the most expensive way to tune not hte cheapest.

what car is this? going by an escort 1.8 115ps engine your options are:

turbo- 3k upwards for 200-550bhp (obv more power more thousands of £'s)

throttle bodies: including mapping your looking at a few K for around 150-160 bhp

carbs: second hand i got a full setup around 300-400 quid, doesnt require a remap and your looking at around 140ish bhp

nitrous-500+ £

induction kits/exhaust are gonna have minimal effect a couple of bhp at most.
