Default Any opinions on Falken 452's OR Sumo Firenza ST-08

Need a couple of tyres on the VRS, was under the impression these were quite good for a 'budget' performance tyre, rang a local tyre place who practically turned his nose up when I asked if he could price/deal with them

Anyone had any experience of them?

not a bad tyre at all - I run them on my skyline...

I know a lot of the evo boys do as well!

Thanks guys, its only the daily runner, as long as they're not ditch finders in the wet, if they good enough for Alex Skyline and the evo boys...

Not as grippy as Toyo T1Rs in the wet or dry but last a lot longer. I had them on the rear of my old diesel escort and had many an oversteer moment, despite them being wider than the Proxes on the front!

have them on my saff........this might sound daft (not really) but the faster u go the better they grip imho......was strange at first cos if u take it easyish into a bend they feel crap...like the cars drifting....but if u give it the beans they just drag u round no bother at all.....they're made out of a different compound i think (silica bla bla).....try "camskill" for a good price

@ Alex

Thanks Pete, tried Camskil already - out of stock, seem mid-priced

Ideal then Chappers, didn't really 'need' T1R's for the runaround

I have always ran FK452's on my dailies and really rate them for a budget performance tyre.

I'd rather have them than Parada's!

Decent enough budget tyre. I had them, liked them for what they were, didn't get many miles from them, but i never do regardless of brand.

A similar priced tyre that is light years ahead of T1R/F1 gsd3 etc is the Hancook Ventus V12 EVO, have them on mine, and dare I say it seem better now with a few miles than the rainsport 2's.
That's what will be going on the rear when worn out the existing tyres.

A large number of drivers on the BMW forums use 452's, including a couple of E39 M5's and E46 M3's.

Very good, used them on my Mondeo, and Saff. For a road tyre i rate them just as high as Toyo's.

Another one to throw in the mix, the local tyre company suggested these as a budget performance tyes

Sumo Firenza ST-08 seem VERY cheap, similar tread pattern to Falken ST-115 and Yokohama S drive

BTT for opinions on Sumo Firenza ST-08, have seen one thread where a scooby owner fitted them, I may try them, if I don't like them, put the on the back then have Falkens put on the front at a later date

I had Goodyear Hydragrip on a car in the past and really rate threm. Dunno what price they would be for your daily but maybe worth a look. Have only heard good things about the 452 too
