Just go flat out, if you think your going too fast around a corner, just close your eyes, you will get through it!

Overtake people on both sides regardless of the level of danger involved. Brush past Motorcyclists. Ensure your car has numerous oil leaks just to add to the level of danger already present.

But on a more serious note, drive like your grandma and watch out for Billy big balls who is on his first run out on the ring but knows it all as he played it on a video game.

First and main bit of advice is check your insurance, I had a VERY random incident that couldn't of been avoided, had it not of been for my insurer being very helpful I would be in a lot of trouble.

Short of that just take your time and learn the track and enjoy yourself !

Insurance is a good call, I whacked the barrier with it, and wouldnt fancy doing so without.

Other bit of advice from my own experience, is maybe drive at 9/10ths not 11/10ths, treat it more like a road you know there are no police down rather than a track, the runoffs are tiny and if you are really pressing hard then its inevitable at somepoint you are going to find out just how small they are.
So save the really hard driving for somewhere like bedford where its a lot less painful if you get it wrong!

Chip's advice is very good, there's no room for error in most places so drive at 80% i always say

I've done about 50 laps the last years and never had a hot moment apart from my visit last saturday when i overtook a Porker in the last long corner on the outside and i was a bit to fast and almost went straight in the armco, so it can really surprice you

And my advice is not to drive it the rain or in the damp with bikes on track

The bikers become very slow moving mobile chicanes the moment a drop of rain falls, if you come round one of the bends with limited visibility and you are properly on it, you have pretty good chances of running up ones arse!

I've only been the once but the immediate things that became apparent were (as everyone has said so far) to take it steady. No matter what car your in, someone is going to be quicker then you so dont let the red mist decend (sp) and try and chase after them. Also the guy who owned the hotel we stayed at (The Ringhaus) said that in the rain you either drive it slow or you crash.

Take your time, give the track your full respect and also dont be too hard on your car, its got to get you home

Or on the ring, or on the way back - it's bloody expensive to get your car home.

Went 7 times this year. Hire a car from RSR. That's the best advice I could give anyone. You will be properly insured and briefed and looked after. And you won't have any mechanical worries or car related traumas. AND it's not as expensive as you think...

I have done a few posts about it. Do a search mate.

Great place but you can have a life changing event there if you don't know and understand the risks. writing your own car off is by far NOT the worst thing that van happen for example and this is what most people think is the downside! It's not!

And what is the insurance excess of course, as to some people on here thats going to be more expensive than writing off their car.

6K wasnt it?
