Well my budget for a cheap subaru seems to have gone out the window and im now looking a evo 7's and 8's. ![Red Faced](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)
![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
Ive seen a few FQ300 models and also a few 'standard' models with the small spoiler. Does anyone know the other differences between the FQ's and the 'standard' models? Are the standard models generally worth alot less or are they about the same being UK cars? Would be good if there are any car dealers on here that could have a quick look at the prices if possible.![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
Any info and advice is greatly appreciated, because to be honest, i havnt got a clue when it comes to evo's.![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
Cheers.

Will, thats brilliant mate, just what i was looking for! Cheers. ![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
I think ill hold out for a nice FQ300 then. I dont think id be 100% happy if i 'made do' with the standard 260 model.
I cant believe ive persuaded myself to go for an evo 7/8 after i was orignally looking at £3k/4k scoobies though! Maybe its me being to picky and expecting too much from a £3k-£4k car i dunno.![Confused](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
Anyone knows of any nice 7/8's that are not advertised, please let me know.

i have a evo 7 and to me its a hell of a car,it has the 5 speed box which is miles better than the notchy slow 6 speeder,if you want a cheep evo that won't lose much get a good 7 or a 8 260,i would have a 260 if i didn't have a 7 jdm gsr as its the best to modify with second hand parts to see a significant improvement.
it was the 260 that fooked up the prices of evos as you could get a new fq400 for nearly 50 grand and a new 260 for half,75% of people imo just wanted a evo 8 no matter what and some people lost fortunes never mind big chunks of cash on depreciation.
i don't like the 1234 or the 10 as its a ugly arsed car but the 56789 are the ones that sell well.
if your up for doing a road trip you could go the jap auctions and save £££'s

cozzfather - you could buy an Evo 8 260 for as little as £17,000 as 3 of my friends proved when they walked into a dealership with cash and said, "we'll buy 3 for cash if you do them for £17k!"

I used to own an Evo 7 GSR and I can honestly say it was the best car I've ever had (& I've had a fair few!!). As it happens it's just come up for sale again:- http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=289112
I can obviously vouch for how mint it is, if you're after a 7 I swear you won't be dissappointed with this one

Hi S1 my mate is thinking of selling his Silver Evo 7 Yreg - its got Ralliart Ecu good for 1.3bar 350bhp ish , stainles exhaust, anthracite rims etc...debadged, needs boost controller and the ecu mapped properley to fine tune all the bits n bobs. Hes based in Huddersfield and it wouldn't be a daft price.

when the evo 260 came out they were more than the £17995 i last saw them brand new and dealer registered before discount because the 9 was sat next to them in the showrooms.
that and the top spec cars huge price difference made people wary as most punters were happy with a 260 as it was a "evo" and they didn't care as i think they didn't know they were a inferior spec.
heres the place i use or did when it was out of liverpool, because of the credit crunch and world economy theres not enough boats sailing from japan so they stopped it but fook me i saw some serious jap modified cars and cheep too.
http://www.mca-auctions.co.uk/index.php
you have to be in the trade but if you know someone you can get in,hopefully when the job picks up it will return to liverpool docks again.

The Evo 8 MR edition engines have a larger exhaust housing, stronger rods, pistons and head gasket and another 1mm of lift on the cams. This means that they can be tuned to 400bhp / 400lb/ft torque on a standard engine.
Non MR engines are restricted by the standard rods to around 350lb/ft torque.

Welli went to see an evo 8 today, 50k, 2004 FQ320 and it wasnt what i was expecting for the money. Had a few bits and bobs that needed doing on the body and was a bit of a state inside. Looked a bit neglected to be honest, and was well overdue for its service which he didnt tell me on the phone! Got a another one to look at this weekend so hopefully it will be much better.

Well my budget was initially £3k for an early scooby!
Then £7k for an evo 6! ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
To be honest mate i dont really have a budget as such for an 7 or 8, as long as the car is excellent and well looked after, and comes well priced.
