I dont think you will be better off doing that at all mate, will just light the wheels up or bog down.

At what point do you really have useable power? 3500rpm?
Thats about 36mph in your second gear, which is a hell of a speed to be trying to hook up at!

First off the line then instantly into second IME works best on my car, and thats as similar to yours as anything is.

Speaking of which, here is a picture showing how much Toe I had when I did that 1.8 60ft, just in case you thought I was exagerating, lol

This is when its compressed and hence toed out loads more than it was static, so imagine how much toe in there was as I started the launch, lol

Thankfully thats all sorted now, just didnt have time before the event I was at.

At least I know the diff is working well, LOL

thats a cool pic, and some serious black lines lol
it looks like the rear of the wheels are outside the arches but the fronts are tucked in lol.
will have to see how it goes next year for me.

It must have been nearly an inch of toe in per side static at the point I launched there, it looked like someone doing a snowplough stop on a pair of skis.
Totally wrong of course, but was just a starting point as I didnt know how far it would squat as I had never launched it before and I wanted to know it was still going to be toe in after it had.
Thats literally the first time I had ever tried to pull away in it, save for one attempt at a traffic lights the night before on crappy road tyres, and it STILL did a 1.89 60ft
Yours will do SO much better than that.

Gotta be a 1.7 in it, which will be a match for Dave's car!

Well its got the cage, but not so keen on the rest, Circa 500bhp onto mud isnt going to work very well

Take it to a test and tune day at the pod next year mate, there is SO much potential in that car.

If the box is strong enough for a sniff of gas I genuinely reckon there is the potential for 9s on the right tyres.

You think?

Shame the Supercharged V8's have near 500bhp, let alone the twin bike engine'd ones

(Superchaged V8 mini pick up's were the thing back in the 90's)

Turbo V6 or V8 mid engined mini pickup is the project im intending to do as my last ever project (minis will always be my main interest car wise, always have been)

I'll use an audi lump and audi FWD box to do it, very similar layout then to Stu's which sits the weight further forward than my transverse setup does in the nova.

On the plus side mine would be a lot safer if we both got run in the back of, he has NO crumple zones for a rear impact, and I really do mean none, the occupants of the car are the first thing the engine would hit!

LOL, I dont think you will have a problem with that!

Mind you, coming off the track backwards into something with it seems quite likely if you drive like as much of a twat as me, lol

By the way, do you suffer much with a lack of front end grip? Ie it wanting to understeer?

not really and if i do i just let off and it grips.
i think the front needs lowering or the rear needs raising to put a bit more weight on the front tho.

Mine really wants to push on at low speeds, although im hoping the rear toe was causing a lot of that, keen to get it back together now and have a play again after seeing yours tonight

At mallory on the hairpin it just wouldnt get round it, so I had to take to dipping the clutch, revving like fuck, then dumping the clutch and firing it sideways, or in some cases accidently backwards

I upset plenty of bigger boys at mallory, but not by being quick, just by getting in the way of all the evos and spinning out, lol

Video of it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4S8O-Eoaprw

TBH I dont care if its slower than an evo on the bends though, its miles more entertaining to drive, its just a total handful!

Just rear engined mate.

Its got a lot more power now, but on that video it was on narrow (195) rear wet tyres and they were shafted, so its no more of a handful now on proper tyres than it was there, just basically does the same thing but at higher speeds, lol

About 300 or so in that video.
Last time I had it running it was probably over 400 though.

Fingers crossed in a few weeks I'll get it over to the rollers and get a figure on slightly higher boost, 450 would be nice for now, 500 is the ultimate aim with it though.

When it was around 400bhp last time, I raced a 600cc bike and there was nothing in it, he was quite surprised, he stopped next to us at the lights and was saying how amazed he was it could keep up with him when he was accelerating as hard as he could

Its noticeably quicker than my 3 door is for the same amount of power in both, like when they were both running low 300s, especially off the line but even at higher speeds.

It certainly fooled me

Sadly mine lacks the subtle factor due to the increased rear track.

Might reshell it into a corsa at somepoint as it would be relatively easy to do now ive solved most of the problems and they are wider track anyway.
