probably tell you to do one. What exactly is the problem? And what laptop is it? Just so nobody else buys one

Doesn't matter if it isn't within their '12 month warrenty' bollocks. Hit them with the sale of goods act, and go down either the fit for purpose or how long should it last route.
In the first instance you will probably be told to do one, but speak to a manager, or get a number or address to their head office. Once you mention taking it to small claims court if you have to they will soon be offering to sort it out.

Most repairs are covered for a 30 period I think. Either way, that's a shit laptop you've got there 2 have 2 motherboard failures. I'd take it back to the shop and demand it fully inspected and each component tested to ensure it's fully working. I took out a 5 year extended warranty on mine.

if they dont repair it because its 'out of warranty' is cheeky as fook - replacing the motherboard basically makes it a new machine, even more so in a laptop!

sales of good act all the way, its clearly not fit for purpose as Dave mentioned ^^

Thats shit, how can you manage 28 days without a pc, some people relay on their pc if it broke a 2nd time id demand a different laptop, or at least a brand new one of the same make

Sounds like they have reconditioned it or just given you back a reconditioned laptop.

If its actually the MoBo going each time, it clearly means theres another fault causing it. most likely something like the PSU. I would have demanded money back/new one :/
Isn't a dell laptop by any chance?

Couldnt see any on the website, i clicked on laptops and then "all laptops" and went through 3/4 pages, not one Dell was listed.

Although i suppose its listed in price order, so the Dells might be on page 1229

It is, unless you know what your looking at/for, i would never recommend anyone go to Pcworld for a pc/laptop. All they want is the money in the till, sod the customer

If you get rid then have a look on Ebuyer for a new one, you can tell the popular pc's and laptops by the amount of customer reviews, and you can read each one to see if its any good or not They do top end right down to the cheapo ones (£200-300)

take it, back, tell them to shove it up their arse, and get ur money back. iirc, ur rights are something like they have 2 goes to fix it, afterwards they have to replace/refund.
