basicly bougt a laptop from currys over a year ago, within 6 months it died so sent of for repair, new motherboard fitted, then a couple month ago it done it again, luckily i had 2 days warentee left lol, sent off again, and again another new motherboard fitted, i have had it back maybe 4 weeks max and its fucked again.
poss same fault will they cover it or tell me to sling one???? i just dont want em to fix it and then say yes sir that will be a few hundred pls etc

Doesn't matter if it isn't within their '12 month warrenty' bollocks. Hit them with the sale of goods act, and go down either the fit for purpose or how long should it last route.
In the first instance you will probably be told to do one, but speak to a manager, or get a number or address to their head office. Once you mention taking it to small claims court if you have to they will soon be offering to sort it out.

Most repairs are covered for a 30 period I think. Either way, that's a shit laptop you've got there 2 have 2 motherboard failures. I'd take it back to the shop and demand it fully inspected and each component tested to ensure it's fully working. I took out a 5 year extended warranty on mine.

if they dont repair it because its 'out of warranty' is cheeky as fook - replacing the motherboard basically makes it a new machine, even more so in a laptop!
sales of good act all the way, its clearly not fit for purpose as Dave mentioned ^^

Thats shit, how can you manage 28 days without a pc, some people relay on their pc if it broke a 2nd time id demand a different laptop, or at least a brand new one of the same make

Couldnt see any on the website, i clicked on laptops and then "all laptops" and went through 3/4 pages, not one Dell was listed.
Although i suppose its listed in price order, so the Dells might be on page 1229

It is, unless you know what your looking at/for, i would never recommend anyone go to Pcworld for a pc/laptop. All they want is the money in the till, sod the customer

If you get rid then have a look on Ebuyer for a new one, you can tell the popular pc's and laptops by the amount of customer reviews, and you can read each one to see if its any good or not They do top end right down to the cheapo ones (£200-300)
