can high comp pistons be skimmed for low comp

youl get nob heads on here telling you thats al wrong and youl have a weak piston bla bla but as long as you have enough crown on your piston you can do it,,like ksa says measure from top of piston down to the top ring..this will tell you how much crown depyh youve got..cheers danny

Yes but ksa sent harvey the measurements and still didnt get a straight answer,have done it in the past,and havnt had a problem,a lot of ppl will say no,so as you part with your money for a new set of pistons

what a load of bollocks, very rare is the piston the same thicknes across the whole surface area of the crown, you really are showing yourself up again, and to think i unblocked you as well.

to the op,
you can, its not ideal, but if you are really sure you have the material required to exceed your PCP then you go for it.
personally i would buy the correct part for the job.
