Not saying you are mate, I am just very very surprised. Whoever it was doing it were not part of the organisers of the Club.

Was the S1 there? I can only think of 3 members with them. One was Ditch but his hasn't been on the road since about 1987! lol. Of the two that have been to the Rovers one was Reece (D plater) and the other was Steve. Neither of which have/had anything to do with running the group or even been to the meets in years.

Steve is very gobby and forward so it wouldn't surprise me if it was him. I know he rubbed a few people up the wrong way in the early days driving like a twat etc. Just coming along to be a wind up in the begining. He moved on from that S1 to a White Saph which was then Tiger Striped. Thats went 3-4 years ago though and hes into BMs now. TBH I don't really recall him from when he had the S1 as I only got to know him when he had the Saph.

I have been part of the group committee since it has been meeting at the Rovers and I can't recall this episode at all. So I'm shocked. Plus I don't like the thought of anyone feeling the group are a bunch of arseholes. Or worse telling others that. Clicky, quiet and boring sometimes gets batted about but that comes with the turf. I know the group is a small one and we don't do anything special for the members but that has always been down to the quietness of the club and not having any funds. We try to keep it as casual as possible as we didn't receive a great reception to any efforts that we did make, people seem to want to be sheep in these situations. Told where they are going, what they are doing etc as long as it doesn't take too much effort. Those that do keep coming and get involved though tend to form part of a friendly bunch that go to shows and help each other out. Those that turn up, say "this is shit" and then never return without giving it a chance are probably best gone tbh.

Does stink of Steve on a wind up but being that much of a cunt seems a little odd even for him. Wouldn't surprise me though and it seems the most plausable answer. What I do know is that none of the people at the healm knew about the incident as Steve would have been told where to go at the time, plus it must have been 6+ years ago now. I know Gavin had a run in with Steve at around that time for being a prick in the carpark and Steve didn't like us then as we scuppered his ways. Even so, mud sticks and its not a good situation for me to be in at the moment where our group is being bad mouthed for such an incident that I wasn't even aware of. I feel partly responsible tbh.

I would just like to rectify the misunderstanding with Smit but I'm sure he knows it was nowt to do with me as I have since helped him out on occasion, sending him my tools to use when I have never met him in person. I just feel that I sadly need to defend the group. It certainly has its faults but I don't see making people feel that unwelcome and being so rude to them as one of them.
