why not buy an old elise or exige and spend the extra making it mental? would probably only cost you the same as a standard newer exige anyway

You will have to go drive one and see, I got bored very quickly of the standard power in a Mk1 Exige to be honest and I never had a 400+bhp Cossie at the time . Never driven a new Exige S but I would maybe agree with some others, I prefer looks of Mk1 Exige, so get one of them and Audi Turbo it and a few other wee add ons and it would be amazing.

Disclaimer: I would still rather have a Porsche though.

Won't be within the next 6 months as the escos is off the road, i'm retraining and the track days are all wet until next spring LOL. I'll continue to research them though.
