Is it not miles deep at the point of impact.. so chance of black box flight recorder being recovered was almost impossible??

Cheers,

Loads of info about it on the net - Wikipedia is usually my first port of call.

But no, they have not yet found the flight data recorders or been able to recover much in the way of wreckage, so the cause of the accident is still unexplained.
Pretty all the info they have to go on is some final automated telemetry that was sent out by the aircraft before it crashed (indicating that several systems were failing) and the fact that the aircraft was experiencing some pretty adverse weather conditions at the time it was lost.

I doubt they'll ever get to the bottom of it (no pun intended).
But that area of ocean is supposedly miles deeper than anyone or any manned thing has been?
It'll be one of lifes mysteries, like Stone Henge.

cant understand why in this age of technology they dont send all black box data to a satellite as well as the black box and record it elsewhere.

Surely it'd take forever to scan such a MASSIVE area though?

Is there a depth restriction for pressure? I know they filmed at the titanic like 2 miles under but this might be more.

Or you just touting for work?

They can, but it was an Airbus A300-200, they stopped making that variant in the 1980's so unless the airline had upgraded the equipment, it wouldn't have had the kit except to transmit the basics, and even then it was transmitting information on all the systems and how they were operating.

They gave up the search for the black box ages ago, the battery on the radio emitter stopped and that was it, hundreds of square miles of sea, they will never find it.

surely tho they need to find out what happened to make sure there is not a fault in the plane that could effect the rest of the fleet for this particular plane?

They said the Outboard air speed sensor froze up ... A 10Knot Variation in airspeed messed everything up and the plane crashed?

A300 ... Flown on one of them a few times and it was the best flight av been on!

In that case, if the wind ever changed direction while they were flying they would all fall out the sky Where did you hear that one from?
